Hey guys, I’m a complete noob . I was just wondering how much per window you guys are charging in ct. There are a lot of pricing threads here but the information is all over the place. So on average for the CT guys what do you charge per window inside / outside and do you charge per window, per hour , per pane ? What seems to be most practical
I’m a complete noob so to be honest all of the above any tips on pricing (how much, per window, per pane, per hour, what packages you offer etc) being I’m just starting out I will probably target residential first anything your willing to share I’ll take
I grew up in ct. ( Milford).
When I went back to the old homestead over the summer I was amazed at how many different sized windows is on my boyhood home.
With added storms and the “older” homes prevalent in the northeast it’s no wonder prices seem to be all over the place.
May because there is no one set price.
Keep asking n searching
The answers are out there

Everyone starts out with trying to figure out what to charge. Some research finds you out what pricing is. Whether that is the low end,
by looking @ groupon , living social or amazon local…
Nice one mike " I’m in central MA, done a little work in CT and they get charged what I bid my jobs in MA at."
Most everyone here has had multiple phone calls from guy’s trying to find out info like this.
Irritating to no end by trying to be sly about it. Like…trying to disguise window types etc…
Like… just give me a price for this many windows, i think that’s how many i have… Dooh
verses just saying out right. Hey i am new just trying to get an idea… Trust me we know !!!
Your wanting the easy way. So some of us are just going to blow smoke up your… Throw you some numbers totally out of our head and not disclose a thing…
Figure out a per hour rate your happy with, then translate that in to a per pane price or per window.
Tho you will be soon upping that amount pretty quick…
For me per window is way easier than per pane, but that’s me…
These… groupon , living social or amazon local…
Are where guy’s think they can build with starting out… That how they draw you in…
But can you build? with giving a 50% discount off your price… Then after that 50% take another 50% cut off your already 50% discount ??
Because that’s what you have to do with them… So say if you price for 20 windows in&out @ $199… you drop that to $99 to run the special.
Then out of $99 you pocket $49.50… So for $49.50 you drove ,used products and did the job… Say 2 1/2 hrs to complete it ??
But it probably will take you 3-4 just cleaning windows.
Is spending 1 gallon of gas, solution etc… and end up with $19.80 per hour just for your time doing it making any money???
That doesn’t include drive time etc…
What does the response bid ticker show on the home page, right hand side… Titled
National Average Ticker
Take that and balance it with what your market rate is…
Balance that with the level of service your able to provided, when you dictate your price
It’s not in a thread …
When you to come to WCR … I.E. Page that shows the current threads. Has the ads at top with current offers from the store and or the association.
Right hand side underneath reviews about the wcra . Is the response bid ticker…

this is what you’re looking for. Depending on what level of service you’ll offer, somewhere in the $10-$14 per double hung window is a safe bet. Charge double for windows with storms, and a little extra for true divides (french panes). But just starting out, I’d recommend $8-$10/DH (including screens) for your first few weeks at least. Because let’s face it, a newbie’s work isn’t worth the same as someone with a few years of experience.
