This would work. Check Tractor supply and Northern tools. Both have online and brick and mortar
I bought an electronic Ryobi backpack sprayer at home depot.
Has it done the trick for you?
it did
I’m curious, long does the water last in the backpack? I guess its hard to visualize how much water you use when you cant see it in a normal cart.
The water in the backpack, 4gal, should last for thirty minutes or more. You should be able to clean ten double hung windows in that amount of time sometimes fifteen. If you can’t hit those numbers you’re doing something wrong.
@BostonMike, Mike are those numbers maintenance cleans? If not, my gallon usage is way off! (Time is right though)
Most of my water fed pole work got done once a year. I live in New England near the ocean so some of my customers had crusty sea salt on the glass. No problems.
I have to admit that I always did my first time cleans by hand. Usually homes that had not been done for years.
Alex Gardiner the guy who owns Gardiner waterfed pole told me how to manage my water usage just like they do it in England. My annual cleans came out perfect. The folks over in the UK doing nothing but maintenance cleans theory isn’t really true in my opinion because their way worked fine for me. Got my outside windows done in less than half the time so that was great. Here are some water saving ideas.
- I put a shut off valve on the back of my electric backpack and closed it down so the pump could only put out a small amount of water. Then removed the handle to make it a permanent setting.
- I had a small shutoff valve in my hand at all times. Used a little more than a quart of water per window. Only ran water to wet and then to rinse the window.
- Gardiner dual trim medium bristled brush, 12 inch. On the small side.
- small European pencil jets
As I said earlier I actually liked cleaning with my manual backpack better. I got the jobs done faster and used less water. Faster than my van set up on regular size homes. Under 40 windows. No set up! No rap up! No electrical parts break down. No hose management! Anyway hope that helps.
when i ran mine with my brush the tank lasted 8 minutes of run time. how many windows you can do varies with how you operate: close hose between windows, wash and rinse same time or scrub with water off. how big jets are etc.
That is very helpful Mike. I have been trying to use a heater, but it keeps shutting off, which is why I usually don’t stop the flow, but that is killing my resin so I will have to look into how to make it relight like it’s actually supposed to when the water stops. Maybe I’ll go electric, idk.
