Preparing my pressure washer for freezing temperatures

Hey guys,

I stored my pressure washer inside for the night, they forcasted 15°F so I didnt want my pump to freeze up and crack… but it’s a pain in my hiney to lift that thing in and out everytime i need it. what do you do to keep it from cracking? i thought about just leaving it outside and putting a huge pile of thick blankets over it but i’m sure there are better ways… thx for your input.

Pump antifreeze through the pump. It’s easy you can get it at home depo. The cap is threaded so all u have to do it screw it on and flush it through

I use a product called “pump saver.” I got it at Lowe’s, it’s a foam, it screws on to your water inlet, just empty the can kinda like Fix a Flat.

I’d still want to use the pressure washer every now and then though…

I use antifreeze… I pump it in then reclaim it to use again. I do this every week in the winter.

I guess i’l have to go to lowes and get me some. do you put stabilizer in your gas as well?

no stabilizer. I use the power washer all winter. it might sit for week is all.

I blow all my lines and pumps out with air if it gets in the 20s. If it gets in the 10s or below, I add RV antifreeze in the pump and put a heat lamp on the pump.

Yes you can still use it when you have too. and yes on the the fuel stabalizer. just make sure the anti freeze is all out before you hit the house. But i know you would know that already. Pick up a few bottles they are not expensive. I saved the bottles and just fill them with more anti freeze each season.

Hi i am new here
