Pressure washing in the rain?

I need to go do a pressure washing job today but it’s raining, I don’t care but will the rain (light but steady) cause the house wash to be ineffective? Are there other issues associated with house wash in the rain?

I don’t pressure wash but I think it would actually help

It will water down your mix and dwell time is an issue too. Definitely wait

Thank you! I needed to make a quick decision here and I appreciate your reply!

I stand corrected

I would say you’re fine to go ahead. It actually helps water down the plants

I kinda like working in the rain as long as it isnt windy

We wash in the rain all the time. Unless it is driving so hard it is running down the house like a waterfall, it will be fine. A little rain cannot compare to the amount of rinsing it takes to remove our house wash mix.

true, but not every surface or stain is really dependent on tons of soap or dwell time. If one was washing pavers with moss on them, or a vinyl siding garage with lots of gutter overflow and mildew, i do not think it would hurt him one bit.

If it was stained gutters and he wanted to use gutter zap or something like that, it might throw his timing off, or wash the product off sooner than he would like.

Definitely can be done, and can be done well. I think it might slow you a bit, but not enough to take the day off.

steve what surfaces were you going to wash?

Will all due respect to Steve and not trying to belittle him in anyway, if he had to ask if he could wash in the rain told me he hasn’t properly learned how to compensate IF the housewash mix wasn’t working along with knowing within a few minutes IF your mix is too watered down or not, and all that comes from years of experience. Being he had to ask if he could told me he isn’t experienced enough to feel confident in knowing how to adjust for a weaker watered down mix. Again, I’m not belittling him at all, just could tell by the question he wasn’t confident enough. We all had to ask and STILL NEED to ask questions to learn.

The other reason I told him to hold off is I was experiencing the same storm band he was with every 5 min it going from steady rain, to sunshine to downpour and then back to steady rain.

Can it be done? Yes. Do I advise doing it if you don’t have to? No

Really? It’s not rocket science. Use common sense.

Yeah, I rescheduled, one minute is was a monsoon and then the next it was sunshine and dry, I needed to just make a firm decision and I hate starting a job unless I’m sure I can finish.

Said the guy who cleans gutters with a leaf blower.

I agree with Jeremy. If you’re not comfortable cleaning in the rain, or cleaning in the sunshine, don’t clean. Can it be done? In most cases, yes. We’ve washed houses, apartment buildings, concrete gas stations, and all kinds of surfaces in the rain. But there’s a learning curve to know how to effectively clean in the rain. There’s even MORE of a learning curve in explaining to the customer how you can effectively clean in the rain and make them feel comfortable about it.

What may be simple or second nature to some is rocket science to others, until they learn.

Huh? I was trying to stick up for your ability to use common sense but I guess you didn’t have the common sense to see that

I suppose I guessed right that washing in the rain can make the job easier.?

Relax I was joking - I use a leaf blower too… in fact the same model.

But you didn’t use a smiley face

I’m not that internet experienced, I don’t even know where to find them.
