Pricing colonial windows

I was asked to bid a 2 story house with all colonial style windows. Unfortunately, I don’t have pictures but there are 704 individual panes about 8-10 inches square. Anybody have any suggestions on pricing something like this? She just wants the outside cleaned.

Thanks

I’d do something roughly like this: 704 panes x $.60 (60% of the $1.00 in/out rate) = $422.40.

Sounds like dbl hung windows to me, I price 6/6 w/storms @ 15/17 per unit

In my area customers have been trained by firemen to pay the same price for a 12x12 as they do for a 1x1. They take a little more than twice as long to clean but the guys ask for the same money. Go figure.

I can clean one regular pane about as fast as I can clean 5 cut ups. So I charge a little more for a 6x6 than I do for a 1x1. A 12x12 is a little more than double.

PS
May I suggest that you check the prices in your area. The pricing on this thread may be high. I get .66 a pane in and out and I am expensive. I should move.

If I asked for the prices on this thread I would have everybody in Hingham talking about me. Not in a good way. Don’t get me wrong ***** is a wealthy town just south of Boston on the ocean. They have lots of money but they have been trained to pay much lower prices for window cleaning.

Thanks for all the feedback, much appreciated.

Mike, I think you should try to train the people of Hingham to pay higher prices. I trained hundreds and hundreds of residential customers for years to pay what I assumed was around the ‘right’ price for cleaning their windows. Thanks to primarily this forum and some inspiration from Kevin D. and the like I’ve tested the ceiling in my area. It’s quite a bit higher than what my 2007 prices were. As we’ve talked, I know you have a vast wealth of experience and know-how. You treat the customers right. They need to be ‘reminded’ of what you’re really bringing onto their properties.

Thanks Dan! I needed that. Food for serious thought.

That’s what we’re all about friend!

Just finished a 2 days job today with roughly +/- 1000 panes, did it for $900, if that helps.

Actually, more like $.80 a pane, There were a handful of double-hungs in the guesthouse that I estimated at $100
