Pros & Cons of a business partner

I’ve yet to see a window cleaning company around that has been built together with another person (ex: business partner of a different household, not spouse). I’m not too familiar with this type of approach in a window cleaning business.

Are any of you in business with a partner? If so, what do you believe to be the biggest pros/cons?

Pros: Two people splitting the work, can always have an “owner” on a job, growth quicker assuming you make the right decisions.

Con’s: Spliting the money (can be differences in needs), 1 person MUST be in charge (doomed to failure without this), clients get use to having owner at their home.

Have you seen this one? www.gleamteam.com It’s a partnership and I heard they were pretty awesome.

A very wealthy person I know said about partnerships is each partner needs to bring something that the other person does not possess.

If your skills are the same or overlap to much it won’t work.

Haha well I’m glad to hear your doing ok. Why did you choose to do a partnership? If you don’t mind me asking?

Do you have an example in terms of window cleaning?

I think your right on this one but I can’t seem to think of something someone else can bring that I can’t either bring myself or learn on my own.

He made his millions via large scale janitorial. One was a salesman marketer the other amazing systems, organizer.
They went there separate ways on good terms, because they felt each had taught the other and no need to be partners any longer.

Complimenting strengths, Someone to give another perspective and keep things running if either of us needs time off. My partner was going to start a business so by teaming up, one less person to compete against.

Larry, you guys already hit 200k this year, right? seems like a partnership has to work with numbers like that

Yeah, we just reached that mark.
