LOL, you may not believe this, but I literally just sold it this afternoon! I had actually forgotten about this thread until the buyer called me! Very easy, fun build…you won’t be disappointed.
I just sold it because I’m not doing window cleaning anymore, so I didn’t need it. If I start spraying lots of specific chemicals I’ll probably build another one.
Oh… well. Either way the parts were already ordered so I can’t really return them (I’m in Montreal and ordered everything through the US - complicated to return stuff!). I’ll be adding a long range remote control to mine because I might use it from the truck and have over 250 ft of rhino tube.
Atlas; do you think there is enough room to add a fan in the box you were using (small computer fan - there are plenty of sizes to choose from)? I’m worried about the pump overheating.
I’ll take some pics for sure, my pleasure. I’m looking into buying a box to put everything in. Mine is going to hook up to the back of a dollie (hand truck). That is why I was really looking into a ABS enclosure (sometimes used for electrical - quite pricy but bombproof). I was looking at the Plano 1612 Field Box but am worried not everything will fit. The battery I should be using will be a 25AH but it is the same size as the one you’re using. I really want to put a fan in there and the remote control.
The way you have everything set up looks like there’s plenty of room to add a fan. Which battery are you using (make, model, amp hours)? Looks a lot smaller than what I’ve seen before. Your answer will help me decide if I buy that box or not.
I have a Hudson too. Small cheap made in China pump pulling only .7 amps, 60 psi, less than 1 gallon per minute. The pump I bought is a shurflo commercial pump pulling at least 6 amps, 100 psi, 1.4 gallons (I think these specs are right or close enough). Big difference.
I think there’s plenty of room for a fan. I only used mine twice, and it was around 40F when I used it, so I couldn’t tell you if overheating would be a problem. A fan probably wouldn’t be a bad idea if you’ll be using it for extended periods. But, if it will be in your van and away from water, you could probably just leave the lid open and it would be fine.
If you find the build thread, he has all the part numbers listed…I just cut and pasted those numbers to an Amazon search and put it together when all the components arrived.
Ya, I bought everything listed (pretty much). I’ll be putting a fan in, I’ve heard of the pumps overheating so why take a chance? Thanks. I’ll order the box (plano deep field box) tonight.
Finished my pump in a box. My intent is to use this to boost my current flow at times when I run 2 poles at heights (6-7 stories) or pump water from a tank when city water isn’t available or for 3rd pole.
I used the same Rectus fittings that is used throughout my current system.
Was fun! Would have been a pain if I didn’t have the great posts to read here. They were very detailed with a item list and links. Most everything in the links were still available except the switch which was found through another vendor.
Have found this to be a huge help. The battery will run for 8 hr
