I’m looking for some examples from users of on board tanks and delivery pumps for either water fed pole system or pressure washer. Any preferred pump recommendations to use along with tank systems. Any examples would be appreciated.
Hi Lonnie, that’s a pretty broad topic. A system meant for PW will be different from one for WFP.
I run a 25 gallon ag-sprayer tank for my wfp. 1.8gpm 60psi shurflo pump. 40-50 gallons would be more ideal if you have the room and weight capacity for it.
I use a 55 gallon plastic drum for my pressure washing buffer tank (it gets drained down to 15 gallons or so before I tow it anywhere). 1" pvc hose, plumbed with a banjo y strainer in-line, goes straight to my pump inlet. No need for a booster pump if you setup your plumbing correctly and have a belt or gear driven pressure washer.
What is it that you’re trying to do, exactly?

thanks for responding to me about my situation. I’ve gone ahead
already and bought a subaru pressure washer from sams club. I’m
finding out now was not the best choice. but my business is gearing
tward more strip malls that require me to have mobile water. is it
possible to run both systems off a 100 gal tank? maybe my thoughts
were to plum a two way splitter to shut off one system while using the
other ? look forward to your response. thanks!

100 gallons won’t get you very far with power washing. That would equate to about 15 minutes of washing with my machine. Double that for a consumer grade 2.5 gpm washer. A half hour goes by pretty quick. And unlike a wfp system, you can’t run your tank dry. You’ve got to have some safety margin so you don’t cavitate your pump. And then your float valve (for not overfilling the tank) will use up some more capacity. So you might get 75 gallons useable from a 100 gallon tank. I get about 40 gallons from my 55 gallon drum, and the vertical orientation is working in my favor. A horizontal tank will yield less.
Most guys that bring water on-site have 350-500+ gallon tanks. That is a lot of water weight.
alexs thank you for your advice. I thank you for your time. you input
means alot!
