PVA towels

I found blue ones and yellow/tan ones. They are the same material, work, and feel the same. I am loving my PVA towel. At about $5 per towel (as opposed to about $20 for a synthetic chamois) I can go thru a few if need be. My towel seems very durable but I’ll keep you posted on how it holds up.

I tried using one of these PVA towels, I believe it was the asorber, it was just a slimey mess. I tried the Shamwow’s out too, and I wasn’t very impressed.

Richard I need to scoot down to Greenwood one rainy day, maybe we can get some lunch and you can show me the Aquadry.

Tony, the tan colored Aquadry towels that I’ve been using don’t have the quilted design, are thicker, and come in a round cylindrical canister as opposed to the eliptical shaped canister the blue ones come in.

They definitely feel different to me straight out of the package. I’ll see how the new blue one feels and works after being wet then dried out overnight, then wet again.

They may actually be the same material but I think they are made different as far as thickness goes. The older tan ones I have feel a bit heavier.

I’ll have a more in depth comparison over the next day or two.

Micah, I tried the Absorber and didn’t like it at all either. The older version of the Aquadry towel that I presently have 4 of is not like the Absorber at all. Come on down to Green town and I’ll give you a brand new older version of the Aquadry towel.

Man I’m glad it finally stopped raining. The wind has been murder. I was like a new dude when the sun came out later in the day Thursday.

Come on down when you get a chance!

Just now comparing the older tan Aquadry cannister (or package) to the newer eliptical shaped cannister of the blue Aquadry towel. Both are sold by the same company “Calderon Textiles” in Indianapolis, IN but the older tan colored Aquadry is made in Holland and the newer blue Aquadry towel is made in China. So the tan and blue Aquadry towels that I have are definitely different.

Well, I let the blue Aquadry towel dry overnight then wet it down this morning. It basically feels like a rubber rag that is porous. It’s nothing like the older version of the “Aquadry Synthetic Drying Towel”. The older Aquadry is not a PVA towel…it’s not rubber or vinyl.

I just don’t like the feel of the PVA towel. It grabs the surface being wiped and chatters and squeeks almost like a squeegee blade on dry glass.

I may be able to get used to it but I really don’t care for it.

I find that pressure has a lot to do w/ the skidding issue. If I use light pressure the PVA towel just soaks up the water. If I use to much pressure then I can get skidding if I’m not soaking up a bunch of water.

That is what I find too Tony, pressure causes the skidding. Still though, even with pressure I don’t get the skidding or chatter with the non-PVA Aquadry towel.

To me the PVA Aquadry is just a thin Absorber (PVA) towel. I just don’t like the feel of the PVA towel. But like I said earlier, I can probably get used to the PVA if the non-PVA towel is no longer available.

This was my experience too Richard. I couldn’t figure out what to do with it. It was absorbant to a degree, but even after wringing out it was still dripping wet.

Really? I can wring mine out till it’s barely damp.

Maybe you’re stronger then me.

Mrs Squeegee can do it too!:stuck_out_tongue:

She’s definitely stronger than Micah.
