Just received an email for qb 2012 and a one week coupon may just work as an upgrade. So if your interested
btw is this year a forced upgrade?
I know I have had to upgrade in the past to keep certain features working.

Each version has it’s own forced upgrade date. the 2012 version is May 2015. I think if you have the 2010 version, then the date would be May 2013, as an example. Intuit has fixed support time frames for most, if not all, of their products.
Just looked up and my 2009 version becomes unsupported on 5/31/12. No big deal except this is what is says for payroll

"Basic, Standard, or Enhanced Payroll: After May 31, 2012, QuickBooks 2009 no longer automatically calculates correct payroll taxes or provides payroll tax forms. Your paychecks may be inaccurate. Your subscription is inactivated and you will receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of your Payroll subscription."
Guess it’s time to plan out what I’m going to do.
also if you use qb to process credit cards no longer supported
I’ve never had quickbooks before… So If I buy 2012 for say $249.00 do I have to spend that much every year or what?
Quickbooks has a 3 year sunset on support and add on services such as payroll. So 2012 will be good until 2015. Dell has QB pro on sale right now for $150, Sams club is at $175 everyday. The bigbox office supply stores have it on sale all the time for under $200.
Steve how is the payroll part of QB for ease of use? Can you get it as a CD to load on your computer or is it just online?
I use QB online with payroll. It’s super easy

I would prefer not to do it online. Just personal preference.
Yes, it can be purchased as a cd seperately, or as a package with qb.
I believe Costco has the 2012 Pro version for $175 less $75 rebate.
