Quickbooks Credit Card Processesing

Anybody used the online merchant add on for Quickbooks Online that allows you to accept credit cards? It seems to be about the best deal around, especially since I’m already using quickbooks online.

I don’t have a big call of being paid by credit cards, but one account asked for it, and it would be worth doing since they said they would pay for the year in advance… It may be a great marketing tool too, and I’m sure people will pay more if they’re paying with a credit card.

Here’s the rates, if anyone is interested. Accept Credit Cards - Online Accounting Solutions and Professional Internet Accounting Software - QuickBooks Online

The only thing I don’t like is they trick you with the “monthly fee”. The monthly fee is 19.95 IF you accrue more then $20.00 of other charges, such as the 0.23 “per authorization fee” and the 2.44% “percentage rate” per transaction you pay. The way it’s set up is you’re going to pay the 19.95 plus 20 dollars of extra fee’s, those fee’s will just have different names.

Still though, 40 dollars a month is cheaper then the other plans I’ve seen.

why dont you just use paypal? they have no fees… they charge 3% and a 30 cent transaction fee.

just put a link on your website, like i did.
Professional window cleaning service company of Orange County also awning & gutter, pressure washing, christmas lights installation

the link is on my navigation buttons, the link is called “pay my invoice”

This is for a commercial account, and the manager said he wasn’t sure how it would look to have the money (about 1000.00) run through Paypal. I can understand why, so I’d rather use a different service, even if I cancel it in a month or two.

On your customers credit card statement, does it say “paypal” or does it have your company name listed? Ideally, I would want my business name shown as who the money was paid too.

I have no clue what it says because like you everybody pays by check or cash, i have not used it yet, i just say i accept credit cards on my site just in case somebody wants to pay by credit card.

We use it. But the one that is not integrated. It cheaper than paypal.
You can use it on an iPhone as well.

Hey Micah,
I’ve been using it for about 2 months now and I LOVE IT! It couldn’t be easier to use if you use quickbooks, integrates seamlessly, and did I mention it is easy to use? I was in the same situation. I landed a new commercial account that could only pay by credit card. I had been wanting to accept credit cards anyway so it was a good excuse to go for it. Now 90% of my residential work pays this way. I can have a crew go out and do a job, I email them an invoice with an option to pay online and done deal. The customers like it. I like it because the guys aren’t handling money and possibly losing checks. Overall I say it’s a winner. Do it.

Micah-

I have a small online store, and this is exactly what it looks like on the customers cc statement:
9/25/09 PAYPAL *WeWashWindows -275.00

Or it might be an abbreviated version of your name like WeWashWind

I think paypal only charges me like 2.9% + .20/trans or something like that.

I use a Moneris POS device but I have since discovered that Cosco has a lower priced one. I am thinking of getting PAYPAL Standard once my web site is finished cuz a lot of my customers want to pay online and it is always nice to not have to wait for payments.
