Rain flow gutter protection

who here has used the Rain flow gutter protection? It looks very simple to use and I have a customer who is interested in some kind of protection for his gutters. How much comes in one pallet? Also how do you price a job? Thanks everyone in advance for all of your help!

WINDOW CLEANING - HOME

I have read several threads that says it does not hold up well. Check the search function to research it more. There were other recommendations that i cant recall right now

I’ve had it installed on my house since June, no problems yet

Garbage…we had 90% of our product fail…

What was your response to the customers and how did it go over with them?

I installed it on a two building condo and don’t want to buy back $1000 in product :frowning:

I installed it on my house on two sets of lower gutters I could see from the second floor windows. I installed it in the fall of 2010 AND IN 2010 I removed it. It was terrible. It ws wavey and held leaves in many of the low spots. One of the gutters spilled over. I removed it and will continue just to clean the gutters every fall.

I’ve had no issues, so far…most go two years back.
BUT I have faith in my fellow WCR members, and believe their experiences as well.

  • so make sure you pack in extra for a re-install… the warranty is only for parts (not labor.)

Professional Grade Gutter Covers for contractors only

INstalled on 2 different houses last year and still holding up great. Snow melts off quickly, no ice dams, and gutters still clean. I installed them on my garage for about 6 months before I used them on any house. Of all of the styles, I only offer the black on black with the micro screen. It is the 2nd most expensive one at 2.75 a foot.

We have removed and refunded it. Thousands of dollars worth…

Rainflo, correct?

As much as I would like the extra income from installing RainFlo foam or cheap plastic gutter covers, I just don’t feel right about scamming people for a crap product. Sorry to those of you who sell it or make it, but every time I see it on a house I cringe. It may be ok in a climate or location where there is not a lot of trees and rain, but here in the NW they just end up being a bigger nuisance than they are worth. It creates a trough at the top of the gutter that catches debris and holds it there, as it decomposes and filters down through the foam (or cover) creating a peice of foam saturated in sludge which then has to be removed, hosed out, gutters cleaned out, re-installed. Big mess, big waste of time. People think they can just stuff some foam in there or cover up the gutter and never have to think about it again. Not in the Northwest! Just stick a screen protector in the downspouts to keep the water flowing and clean them out once, maybe twice, a year.

Stuff is worthless around here. The right thing to do is remove and refund, and chalk it up as an expensive lesson. I run tests for a couple years prior to trying anything new on customers. We tear out more failed gutter protection systems that I can count. Around here the best thing is just to leave them open and clean them out. Cost wise, that is going to be the customers best option in most cases. I know people who still install it, sell it, knowing the problems.

Good for you Dangle, it’s nice to know someone else actually knows what works.

Josh - That is the honest thing to do man, good for you.

Check out this site! I have a sample and is real nice. Rain Mover - Gutter Protection

I saw this at a local home show Gutter Guard | Micromesh Gutter Guard | MasterShield Gutter Protection it has a micro mesh over the top, which seemed to keep the demo debris out. Personally I think it’s all a waste of time … $16-$18 per linear foot the guy sells it at … pay me $150 a year for 15 years and still be in profit
