I was wondering if anybody is involved with offering clients rain water barrel installation along with their gutter cleaning and gutter guard installs. I was noticing that there is even solar powered pumps that can boost their pressure for a host of applications. All of which has to be housed indoors for winter. (return business opp.)
Also does anybody use filtered rainwater in their window cleaning bucket?
Anxious about your thoughts as an add-on service. Seems in step with future trend.
Using filtered water in your bucket is great— right up to the second you put soap and/or t-bar in it. Then it’s not pure water any more; it’s no different than any other impure water such as tap water.
When you use a squeegee, the water doesn’t need to be pure because the squeegee is removing most of the water (and impurities). Pure water is only useful if you are not going to remove the water from the window. If it’s not pure, the water evaporates but the impurities remain as spots.
As for installing rain barrels for customers, I hadn’t thought of that before. Thanks for the idea, I’ll have to consider this!
I use harvested rain water for my truck mounted wfp system. I wrote a article in WCBO magazine about how to get started. Do you have a subscription? I have also posted videos here on how my systems works. It works great and saves money on filters.
It’s Ok! I appreciate you all giving feedback. I wondered to myself “man I’m slippin” haha. The whole reason I got to thinking about all this was that my girlfriend works at Whole Foods In the whole body department, and they are all natural or organic and I love the homested farm foods with no pesticides, growth hormones etc…, and realized that there is a culture that will appreciate these approaches to cleaning. A wealthy culture at that. Hope to fill a need. I realize I’m a little late but I guess it’s a good time to start.
Also, Thanks for those links Johnedwardlee!!
