Reality Check

The above link is an interesting read. It’s Mort Hunter’s blog. Mort is a window cleaner from the Phoenix area and I’m not sure if he comes here or not.

Scroll down about 4 posts down and his post that I found compelling is the long one with the username “admin.” His friend died falling in a home at only 12 feet up. He also talks candidly about sectional usage. I found it very compelling and it strikes me in a direct way…I’m sure some of you others will feel the same.

Complacency…Our #1 enemy in using ladders.

Excellent post, Dwight. It’s sad to think that it can take a tragedy like this to wake us up at times.

Another case for ladder limpets!

4 yrs ago I was cleaning some gutters that had screens on them. The only way to do them without removing the screens was to take a hose and blast them out. The driveway had a slight incline and had been sealed recently. Even though I had my ladder at the correct angle, water made the driveway slippery and the ladder went out from under me. I fell about 10 ft. and got a knot on my head. The routine things we do are often the most dangerous.

I read the Mort Hunter blog and found it to be both chilling and enlightening. a must read for those who have not stopped by there yet. Thanks for the wise post. Sometimes rehearsing what we know will keep you fresh and aware. LinO

I’ve been meaning to get a set of those. I should stop putting it off.

I think wfp training academy have a good deal for them - 10% off at least.
