Refill rubber for different channel sizes

I was curious to know if I should buy one size rubber for the many different channel lengths I have and if so, what length. Thanks.

I only use 18" rubbers, I use the wide body rubbers in 22" but I rarely use wide body channels so I don’t go through them as much as the 18" standard channels

Get some good rubber cutters (WCR sells the one I like best) and you’ll be able to cut down the rubbers to get most channel sizes.

So do you feel like you get the most out of 18" without a lot of waste?

I was thinking of going with 36" rubber.

They’re affordable with very little waste. I primarily use a 12" and 14" so there’s plenty of leftover. Any smaller sizes I cut down old/used rubbers for them and get more life out of the rubbers.

we buy packs of 14" and 36" rubber. the 14" is for our 14" channels and then i cut the 12 36" into 12 18" and 18 12" rubbers and save 30-50% over buying them in those pre-cut lengths

Ok. Thanks. What brand rubber do you use? Thought about trying Unger hard rubber. Using errors right now.

What size squeegee do you use? I actually charted out the prices one year and the sweet spot was 22".

I buy 22" for my route work and 18" for residential. Anything smaller usually gets a worn rubber (use them until the ends get rounded then cut them down to fit smaller squeegees - unless you get a nick in the middle). By the time it gets down to my 6", I’ve got a lot of life out of it.

I’ve been trying all sizes and really like the 18" and 14". I only do residential and use Ettore channels.

I was looking for that the a few weeks ago.

If you only use 18 and 14… just buy a gross pack of 18" rubbers, couple hundred bucks will last you a year-ish

I figure I would get more use out of the 36". 10"-18" channels

Something to think about. Thanks.

I have 10"-18" channels, sorry I left off the beginning to that sentence.

for the brand we buy the 14" are $1.50 each and the 18" are $1.67 each, when we buy the 36" and cut it, the 18" are $1.37 each and the 12" are $.91 each
