Resin mess

Just buy your tanks, I bought mime for 600.OO
I only pay for regen

no monthly fee

regen is going to be like $50…unless you found it cheaper

How many gallons does your tank last?

I think the price may vary on that… if your tank doesn’t last very long, you’ll be giving the tank rental place repeat business. Because my tanks last for 2000-3000 gallons, they don’t see me that often, thus charging me more…

I got a half cubic foot tank from WCR for $340. Does great for what I do and thanks to Alex’s video I can confidently replace my own resin. No more Culligan bills for me. Thanks WCR!

where are you getting the resin Tony? and how much if you don’t mind.

I bet he gets it from the good ol’ WCR store!

I go for about 3,000-4,000 gallons on a half cubic tank. I go through one tank a month about now… yeah it’s repeat business for them, but even if you own you’re own tank you have to recharge and that could cost about $50 for that…so cost of tank+recharge…hummm…I’ll stick to renting for $50 and no recharge fee.

What’s the average TDS down there in Florida?

The good ol WCR store. I bought a half cubic ft of resin ($100) and now I can just get a regen ($80) and still have some on hand so I never run out.
With the tds I run into around here I get about 20+ hrs between regens.

Walk me through it a little bit more Tony.
I also have the WCR starter kit, and haven’t changed my resin or regenerated it.
I got in touch with CUlligans and they don’t do nothing if is not on their tanks, Chris told me to contact him so he can call them, or maybe get Bill on the phone to convince them.

You got a bucket of regenerated resin, change it, and what you do with the used resin?
Do you send it back to Chris? How’s that working money wise ?

You can PM if that’s better

thanks Tony

I just got the tank at the end of the season so I used it enought to deplete the resin in it. Then I bought the extra bucket of resin. I changed the resin in the tank and when the spring hits I’ll order a regen from WCR. Then I have the fresh DI tank and resin to change it out when it’s gone. I just send the old resin back to Chris.
No dealing w/ Culligan ever again. They are very unreasonable and treat you like you don’t know anything.
Money wise it cost me $150 to rent a mixed bed tank from Culligan and they wanted it back in the first month. Or I could rent it for $50 a month and pay the $150 regen fee when I took it back. There are times when I don’t use the tank for a couple weeks at a time. If I rented a tank it would run me $200 for just one month, then $50 each month after unless it needed regened.

Makes sense, that was my idea but thought that might be something cheaper.

So you get bucket of resin($100) and how much is to send it to Chris to get it regenerated including shipping both ways?

Thanks for taking the time to answer me Tony, because once I resolve this dilemma I;ll have one less thing on my list

I’d check w/ Alex on the shipping as I’m in Iowa and you’re in Texas.
