Risk takers

Wagh…
Robinson-Solutions Professional Window Cleaning: What The Window Cleaner Saw

dam if my boss was too f’in cheap that he wouldn’t head down to the home depot and buy my ass a 32 footer, well I guess i’d be out of a job.

I had standoffs that went through the tube of the rung and clipped to the side rails. I would put them on the bottom rung and it would hold the ladder far enough off the building to get your toes on the rungs on the way down. we only used it to come down 10 to 12 feet from the top.

And yes Dange, it was tied to a rope and hanging freely. I also used it to get into a chair doing high rise over parapet walls…until We modified a swimming pool ladder

a simple safety line and door anchor would have removed the risk, the ladders would have been better longer but you can guarantee they would not be able to get them there. so you would look at podium work. but the company probably would not pay out the expense for them. a simple case of it will not happen to us.

Cringing…

All I have to says is “SERIOUSLY!?!?”

They had one up there long enough and a second set up that were 2 fiberglass ladders jury rigged together, meaning they were tied together. Main point about the pictures were the 2 ladders tied together, that being on the ground or on top of a building is a very stupid and ill affect way of using ladders.

Plus there is no door or trap door on the second roof…The only way up is by ladder. There are no roof anchors either. Still using the jury rigged ladders is really idiotic !

This can’t be that big of a deal really… When I was in Mexico last they were doing a similar thing. Looks like they took the time to think safely w/ all the rope.

Yep…

All looks straight and even, not pulling away, nor de-straddling of the mid sent section and seriously looking ready in an element of the central dynamic paradoxical oxymoron, EH…

No your right it won’t slide off the roof, the parapet will stop the ladder feet…

But if the the ladders were to buckle at where they’re tied together, the guy at the top will just fly over the parapet wall…

It’s a very dangerous situation to tie two ladders together working on ladders is dangerous in and of itself, but to tie two together is just plain stupidity and a down right putting life at major risk where there is no need to be .

As you pointed out it LOOKS like they are wearing harnesses, well they are not, and in this situation they need to be !

Now really you can’t believe that tying two ladders together even with that many ropes is a wise and smart way to extend yourself to higher areas…Just because others do it don’t mean it’s being a sharp thinking and safety concise worker or employer.

Working like this with two ladders tied together is just plain stupid and literally a major and overly dangerous risk !

Lets be safe thinkers and do-er’s yawl ! life is tough and being a window cleaner is dangerous but taking risk like what we see in this thread is life threatening, or life killing !
