ROI on EDDM

Started my first campaign four months ago.
5k post cards 30 days apart four different times to the same postal rout.

Total cost: 4,400.00
ROI: 8,873.00
=: 4,473.00

Michael, those are great numbers. Do you mind posting a pic of the post card you sent? I would love to see it.

I sent you a message.

When you look at the numbers…they aren’t too far off from running Groupon

But, probably better return customer rate.

Are you happy with that or did you expect better?

Do you think you would have made the same amount without the eddm?

So you did 4 grand off of 20k cards? What was the offer?

How many houses did you get?

Agree. You can keep that ROI growing and growing years after you’ve sent these cards if you can get them as return customers. Show them a price break if they sign quarterly or bi-annual contracts. If you ever get referrals from these customers then that increases your initial ROI as well. Never think of these customers as “one and done.”

I am new to the site. I am wanting to start my own business. Should I include a price with the card when I mail it out, or just “free estames”?

Test and see one with a special one without, the one with a price will probably do better

And that’s what we “hope for”. But we never know what will happen when doing EDDM.

Dont we all get referrals?

Number may be close but its a different kind of customer.

Well the number look better than what Im seeing around here. Never happy with just a % of with I usually make.

I made over 4k because of the EDDM. 40% repeat and 60% turn into gutter cleaning here pretty soon.

10.00 per window. In and out. I would not do that again. I got a lot of what I call minnies. People wanting only a few windows cleaned.

Do you have a minimum visit price?

Its not close unless your discounting your prices by half. Completely different animal.

We have a $150 minimum. Mini jobs are just as good because we get enough of a minimum charge.

We’re still using a “deal” here - discounted service, hopeful for an upsell. Paying out without any guaranteed return. There are advertising methods for all types of people after you service them, Groupon included. We still hope to find a repeating customer with the mailers, they found you on a special, they’ll possibly look for their next service on a special. As many know, Groupon isn’t for the established companies, more for those with 0 to 1 employees and looking for a good first year.

I understand that people hate the idea of a Groupon, but I’m stil getting return calls on those customers - they seem to be the ones that repeat 14-20 months down the road. I even serviced a 2011 Groupon lady 3 times this year and she’s looking to get her metal roof pressure washed from me in the next month.
