What products by what manufacturers?
Do you prefer gas transfer pumps or 12V diaphragm models? And why?
Any help would be great.

Both have their advantages, and disadvantages. Bob at Pressure Tek can explain them for you.
We clean a lot of tile roofs here in Tampa, and we like air compressor powered pumps because you can use small nozzles on them to reduce run off.
The accumulator tank by Flojet has done wonderful things for 12v pumps because it allows you to restrict flow without killing the pump.
That’s correct Thad, we always suggest using the Flojet Accumulator Tank From Pressure Tek for anyone using a 12 volt roof cleaning pump.
Unfortunately, few actually follow through with it, and burn up their pumps needlessly.
We had a guy over at RCIA going through Fat Boy Pumps quickly. He finally admitted he did not follow through on ordering the Accumulator.
When asked why, he said he didn’t think he could afford it.
They only cost about 50 dollars, had he bothered to ask anyone.
Wiring it properly is critical, too.
Short runs of fat wire and clean, secure connections will ease a lot of heartache.
I prefer Electric. I have the Dual Roof Pump from Paul. If I ever get to where I am doing 2-3 roofs a day though, I will go to an air diaphragm pump. For starting out though I always recommend an electric to keep the investment low.
I made several thousand dollars with that first $129 Delevan 5850- way before the Fatboy or Flojet Pentaflex came out. I have two Fatboys on the shelf. The Pentaflex just keeps on rocking and I don’t even have the accumulator hooked up.
We use air pumps with monster air compressors, but I own 2 FloJet Pentaflex we use on our back up trucks. THAT is one bad mo fo, for a 12 volt pump!
It sprays like a Male Cat, and makes the Fat Boy look like a Toy.
Bob modified it to use auto store 12 volt relays.
ok, im a window cleaning getting ready to tap into softwash/roof washing. Heres my questions. Since i wont be doing as many as you all whats a good pump and all around set up to go with?
i understand i could get thisThis is the newest evolution of the Bandit. The Bandit was first introduced 8 years ago. As the years passed, we learned the weakness and strengths of different combinations of sub-components, materials and wiring designs so that the Bandit improved
but there has to be a cheaper alternative. maybe build my own?
thanks
Yes just buy the pump and hose and wand. Bob will set you up.
ok, and as far as the tanks how long does a 100 gallon tank last? all day or yourefill it at everyjob? thanks
I use a 65 gal tank. How long it lasts depend on size of roof and how dirty it is.
Funny!
Paul at powerwashstore.com has a great dual roof pump system for about $780.00
Thats a great deal.
I have a eletric. But I am buying a gas 1 hp… I like the gas pumps becuase you can pick them up all over town put some gas in it hook up hoses and go…
