Scheduling:Once/month or every 4 weeks?

I’ve come to land some recurring accounts. However as budgets are tight, these businesses (at least some of them) prefer to go once a month and once a month only. When I worked for another company we would schedule everything at every 4 weeks, which ends up being 13 billing cycles. I know some of the places won’t like another bill being thrown in when they have enough budget room for only once a month.

How does everyone schedule their customers?? While I still have only a handful of accounts I can see this as a scheduling nightmare someday when I have lots of accounts and I’m trying to space them out enough to allow only once a month. Is this a problem for anyone??

Every 4 weeks meshes better with my route and software, and adds the benefit of 13 services per 12 months (rather than 12 services if every month over that time.)

I thought about this for a long time…

Obviously every 4 weeks you get that extra mnth of income in… But we eventually decided on once a month. It allows time for make up days, weather, fitting in higher grossing residential…days off whatever.

Shop/storefront work is always once a week. My residential work is suppossed to be every four weeks. That is what I say. But i get behind due to weather, and at the end of the year most probably only get 12 cleans. And you know what, nobody ever seems to notice! If you pitch it at four weeks and you end up with only 12 cleans at the end of the year, anyone who does notice will probably not complain, after all most people would rather the windows cleaned a week behind schedule in good weather than on time in bad.

It’s got to be every 4 weeks. Just tell them our monthly service is based on a 28 day, 4 week cycle. Not just for the extra month you get out of them but mainly for scheduling purposes. Trying to do just once a month would be a scheduling nightmare.

These are good replies from both perspectives.
We try to use the 4 week cycle. It does make our scheduling a little more difficult when some insist on once a calendar month. I have 2 that want every 3 weeks. They’re fairly large for commercial so I endure it.
