Scratch Removal Price Advice

A coffee shop that is done every week.

Had there shop glass scratched 3 panes 3 x 9 Feet.

Now the scratches there are only a scratch a pane being from 16 to 24 inches.

Which looks like it was made with a stone as the scratches aren’t’ that deep.

The owner would like me to price the job.

Now where I live scratch removal is not done at all, most people here did not think it would be possible to remove.

Most of the time they just get it replaced.

Bearing this in mind, how do you think it should be priced?

Charge an hourly rate if so how much, thinking that it should that about an hour at the most?

Charge half of the excess that he would have to pay if he had to replace it?

Charge certain percentage of replacement cost?

Or is there another way to charge?

The kicker here is that going up the street.

There’s about 15 to 20 stores that have the same scratch damage on the glass.

I try and bid 1/3 the replacement cost. If you have a iphone there is a app for pricing look up glass renu.

You are sitting on a gold mine my friend. When you fix this glass the town will be yours. Since you want to get started in this service in your town, think about 2 things. First, each of those panes could take you an hour to 1 1/2. How much is your time worth and how many pads will you burn up? Second point, you made a considerable investment in your system. You need to come up with a figure you can use per job that will be a minimum match for the depreciation you will get for the equipment.

Remember, you want the job to showcase your service to the whole town. Price the job to cover your expenses and a little profit. It is nice to sit back and say you have to get 500 per hour, when you have work.

$200 minimum/scratch/job. Price 1/3 the value to replace if you’re desperate, I go for 1/2. If you price low for one, word may get around for shops.

Offer payment plans or do multi-scratch jobs in phases.

You need to watch Restoration Revolution Episode 6 on pricing. This will take you through your quote.

Today tried a couple of pains discovered there was another pane with scratches on it.

Took about 30 minutes to get two panes with the worst scratches off.

So the other scratches should come off in less time.

Say all up bit over an hour.

Did those two to show the owner how it came out.

Great video!
