Screen magic using the ace pump sprayer makes a HUGE difference

Ive been using screen magic for a little over a month know and had been using some small hand held pump sprayers “like” The Ace unit showen in the screen magic videos. I just picked up the ace pump sprayer. HUGE difference. The spray dispursement is completly different and a much finer concentrated mist. If your using this without the ace sprayer I think you might have some of the same problems with it I have been having. So bottem line I bought the ace pump sprayer for about $10. Im using less product and cleaning more screens. Im still using a dry clean strip washer to rub up both sidesget any area i missed

I use a dry clean cheepo Costco (yellow) microfiber cloth for the same purpose.

You are correct! We have tested every sprayed on the market, from $5 sprayers to high end $300 backpack sprayers, and the Chapin sprayer model number 2001 they sell at ACE is the absolute best sprayer for Screen Magic. The spray dispersement can’t be beat. If your using a different sprayer you waisting money.

We tested all the sprayers by weighing the full sprayers with a gram scale first then treating a screen and then weight them again. We did this three times with each sprayer and then averaged them out. Compared to other sprayers the Chapin used as much as 2/3 less Screen Magic as other sprayers with the best results. Only one had a better disbursement (a sprayer from Lowe’s) but it was to fine of a spray and took so much longer to treat a screen it was not worth it. On top of that the sprayers from Lowe’s broke after about a week for most everyone that we had using them. Hands down the Ace sprayer pays for itself. On a average screen (3x4 foot) you should only use about .5 to 1 ounce per screen compared to 2-3 ounces per screen with other sprayers.

i tried that and also used a micro fiber mit but found the strip washer was ALOT faster than both of these and cover a much larger area

Previously, I became a bit frustrated with the washer sleeve “rolling” and tried the MF cloth. Perhaps I’ll give it another try…

I just picked up a cheapy unger strip washer from home depot 18 inch i think. I usually grab the strip washer around the center and the handle so the sleve dosnt roll. I find the extra screen magic helps to get a few areas missed and i have another bucket on a belt so i have a dry spot for it and easy acces. " that what she said" i found the micro fiber would roll up less coverage and took more time. But again hat ace spray makes a HUGE differnce.

Ace pump spray bottle Model#1042 is THE WAY to go!

I don’t see the “chapin sprayer model 2001” at Ace. However, I do see the Ace pump sprayer model #1042. Which is better?

I went ahead and moved to the ZEP spray bottle. I know it sounds weird, but we are getting much better life out of a 5 gallon jog of screen magic… so it’s going a lot further.

Another big improvement has been the “Flip Mitt”

It works awesome!

When I bought a gallon of Screen Magic from WCR, this sprayer was included with it. Don’t they do that any more?

Getting ready to really start pushing screens this spring (unlike in the past) and will be using screen magic. Appreciate the tips on the correct sprayer. This flip mitt - where did you get it? Ace??

Your correct, it is #1042. They must put a different model number on them for Ace.

I have never heard of screen magic. I am going to check this out. thanks for the post.

we currently hand wash screen with soap and water using a soft brush and our customers love us for it!

Why? What do your competitors do?

Hey Tim,

Why did you quit sending the #1042 with Screen Magic, there must be some kind of price difference when you work in bulk, no?
Was that just a special deal (limited time offer) when you included the pump sprayer with a gallon of Screen Magic?

I can’t find any pump sprayers at all on Ace Hardware’s webpages…

Honestly, I am not sure what my competitors do. Didn’t ask that question, the guy that taught me how to clean windows and wash screens taught me to wash em the way i do. never thought twice about it.

Ace 48oz Multi Purpose Pump Sprayer (1042pl) - Hand Sprayers - Ace Hardware

That link works great, Sam! Thank you.
I tried several searches in Ace’s search box. Pump Sprayer, 1042, Sprayer bottle, etc…

That link is just what is needed!

Re: cleaning window screens The hand pump spray bottles work great, but the solution doesn’t last very long. Plus you have to pump the thing constantly. I use a soda keg pressurized by co2. I never have to pump, it holds a couple of gallons of solution - but the downside is that it is heavier. Do most of you guys use screen magic to clean the screens? What about winsol screen cleaner? Anyone just use a water hose? I worry about using too much pressure and damaging the screens with the hose.

I’ve never witnessed an issue using residential pressure – even up to 105 PSI! – with a 6-way nozzle set to “Shower”
