Your finding a lot of negative things without even using them for a season… I understand you just dropped a lot of money on them , but you made a good investment you will have them for a very long time . They are window cleaning ladders you bought the right thing !

I did discover one great thing about it so far. It can double as an A frame. I removed my 6ft step ladder from my van and will use the sectional. just need to create a safety bar to latch the two together. as you see it in the pic it seems pretty sturdy reliable.
@sream. Your killing me ! Put your 6 foot step back In the van ,

I use my 3 piece, 24’ Werner ladder (9’ un-extended) with levelers and stabilizer. I did an office job with a shared sectional, and almost took a dive trying to reach a corner as I saw one foot-pad of the ladder leveler dangle precariously as I reached. Scary. I guess that’s part of the learning curve? BUT… the narrow sets were a huge benefit to the sectional. Coming from extensions, I see the sectionals as a specialized tool great for corner sets, mobility, and large upper panes, but scary and tricky to find the right height. I can see using them 30% of the time… Maybe I’m biased, and need to spend more time on stacks, but are they really superior on your average residential in terms of speed and efficiency for most homes? Who uses them 100% of the time on 2 story homes aside from Dangerous Dave? Curious.
I do 100% love mine

Just a note, werner ladders are about 15lbs heavier than LG’s in every model… I studied both ladders in all models
100% - all day, every day.
Sectionals are great I did these 8 windows yesterday in 3 sets before it took 4 sets with an extension ladder. U just couldn’t reach. Becoming 100% of the time when not using wfp.

Sectionals are all I use except for my 2 ft step ladder. Over 24ft I turn the job down because I can. If I needed the work I’d use an extension ladder for stuff in the 30 ft range.
Hi guys, its been 2 months since I started this thread and had the chance to use my sectionals on a daily basis.
I have a 5 piece. top, 2 middles, one 4ft, and a base. I leave the LG at home and am forcing myself to use the sectionals so that i get acclimated to it.
the report? I think i need more time to use them, on some days im saying to myself “OMG this is the best damn ladder ever”, and on other days im like “Damn, I wish I had my LG on this job”.
The first of two benefits of the LG (over the sectionals in my opinion) is that it articulates in place telescopically, meaning that I can adjust the height and placement of it while it is set. example: working around a two story house where one window is 22 feet high and then moving 5 feet over to the next window that maybe 12 feet high, with LG I can easily lower the height of the latter. When using the sectional I have to remove a section which takes more time, and btw guys im not sure if its just me but the sections seem to stick together once they are on top of each other so i pretty much have to yank the middles section off the base (its not an easy lift-and-remove), with 3 section stacked up it can get pretty nerve racking hoping i dont accidently drop or fall over with the secationals.
The second benefit of LG is the A frame feature. I miss doing 15foot A-frames without having to lean the ladder against a wall. This is a plus feature in a “do-it-all” ladder.
What i love about sectionals?
here is a pic of a recent job I did, worked out well on this house and I escpecially love the leg levelers, this type of leg level does not fit on a LG which is a shame.
They will break in and start to come apart easier. Just keep using them. Good job man.

Does anyone ever run into a situation where jumping or creeping a sectional w/ 4 6’sections is dangerous? I’m wondering how much time it takes to pull a piece off. Also, I’ve run into situations where even 1.5’ of adjustability is less than optimal for a safe set. I can’t imagine having to work with 6’ or even 4’ of height adjustment to get the proper set. Is it just something you learn to work with?
i think you should have both- a full set of stacks, and a 24’ and 32’ extension (if you go that high). then you are covered for everything. we used to carry 16’ extensions, but ever since we got stacks, those have gone bye-bye. stacks are great 70% of the time, and the other 30% a 24’ extension will be perfect. the lg has absolutely no use for me. there’s nothing i can’t do without it, and nothing i can do better with it.
2.5 sections is the most used combo for us and is incredibly handy.
I guess there is a knack to using sectional ladders. Once you get IT you’ll have no use for extension ladders or the Little Giant again. One ladder is all we really need. Over 20 years with only one ladder inside the truck. Haha
Once you learn how to use them . It will become easier to break them down an set them up . Yes when there sticking it gets frustrating . Loosen them first them lift them up an apart don’t try an do both at same time . Push up from underneath the u to loosen with your palms .them lift up an out

all my ladder placements are above or below because the homes out here are made of wood and the windows are flush with the exterior wall, they do not have deep ledges like how windows on a brick home would be set a few inches inward.
are you talking about a typical two story home?
2.5 = 6’ base, 4’ middle, 6’ top?
[QUOTE=JaredAI;306284]4 sectionals are lighter than my 22’ werner. I agree on the clunkiness and if I’m going 24’ then I prefer the extension ladder: easy up, easy down with a nice wide rung area.
.[/QUOTE
I also use the extension ladder when doing 24’ work.
I haven’t cleaned a brick home with deep ledges in ages. They’re all wood. Never over never under. No stand off and no ladder levelers either.
I deleted that post you just quoted because these sectional ladder discussions are to much work to explain it all. People seem to love the LG and extension ladders. “A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.”
