Selling toys to buy tools

Between my wife and I we own two cars, a motorcycle and I have joint custody of the truck I purchased for the cleaning business (my pops keeps it in his driveway and uses it for handyman work and our evening janitorial jobs a couple times a week).

Recently, I’ve been thinking about selling one or two personal vehicles to reduce my monthly expenses and to put the sale money into my business where it will (hopefully) make me more money.

Has anyone else sold their big toys (motorcycles, jet skis, snowmobiles, etc.) to finance improvements in their business? Was it worth it?

I had a sod cutter from another business I did paid 1500 for it sold it for 1000 had it a few years. Bought wfp system with the money

Totally worth it. Now my garage has a lot of free space and I got rid of stuff I no longer used and didn’t have to spend out of savings. Oh, wait a minute…I’ve never even had any big toys like that, in fact I don’t even have a garage…and I did spend out of savings…oh well, never mind…

You stole the words out of my mouth :hushed:

The day I sold my trans am and 442 to buy 2 more trucks and didnt replace them was the day when i knew i was serious about self employment. And when i started making money io invested in real estate not toys. Its called maturity and common sense, men! OF course if you start making enough dough to buy cars-boats-bikes more power to you but pay debt-invest in retirement planning and your firms future FIRST.
