Yeah I think you guys from the Midwest have it different than us guys from the east. Nobody around here wants scheduled that regular. These windows in the north east suck pretty bad… Everything is old and hard to get open… You should see some of the the old storm window jobs we have here…
It would be nice filling those spots with a client that is always consistent. Then start cleaning her windows only twice a year and see how that works

I agree. I will talk with her.

I will put her twice a year. I will also talk with her about canceling. I rely on that money. If she cancels again, I will have to put someone in her spot.

Here is what I would do.
Mrs Smith because of the cancelations that have recently been going on . Our company policy is to get a deposit before we can put you on our schedule for all future cleanings . We understand things come up. That is why we give a two week leeway On all future cancelations . All cancelations must be made two weeks prior to the scheduled date, or you will forfeit your deposit.
Thanks ,an we look forward to providing you with the same great service that out company takes pride in.
Chad
Proverst window cleaning
I’m sure you could word it better ,
I wish all my residential customers went every two months It will never happen out here , but how great would that be your basically cleaning clean glass

Oddly enough, the majority of my day, today, is monthly residentials.
All within about a square mile from one another.
What’s even odder (more odd?) is that two of their checks come in the same envelop, and they’ve never met each other.
- their bank just found a way to save a stamp.
I love those type of days. I used to think that nobody would ever want their windows cleaned so frequently. Then after a couple of residential customers brought it up on their own, and I realized how great it was, I started offering it. Many homeowners never considered it, but when they have the idea in their head, they start to realize how great it is.
The only way you get a large number of customers to go with regular service (monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly) is to offer it. I like to tell them “You never need to remember to call me. Just tell me how frequently to show-up and I will take care of the rest.” For those who go with it, they love it.
I have that same thing happen with checks. Storefront accounts though.
Not resi lol.
Btw that is water fed heavin , but something tells me you still use ladders . ![]()

You know me all too well… :o
We ladder all but one, for the most part.
Most have sliding screens.
They are all smaller 70 or 80 bucks outside only’s.
Yes I do :). Btw are you watching game 7. Let’s go caps !!!
1-0 caps

Washington, really… that surprises me.
Are you an Islanders fan who hates the Rangers, or do you have some affinity for the Caps?
If you guys saw the window jobs here on the east coast you wouldn’t want them every month. Those mid west and west coast jobs are much newer in general… I know, I’ve seen the jobs, I’ve been out there. I’ve seen the kind of jobs you guys have. Yeah I’d do them every month. But here on the east coast you wouldn’t do them once a month. Nobody wants that. Any east coast guys doing resi once a month??
Yes I’m an Islander fan I don’t hate the rangers ,as much as Yankees , an giants. When your in a two team state an a die hard fan … for me at Least I could never root for the other team. Why ? A lot of people always say to me how can you noot against the rangers or the Yankees there NY. I say ya there NY Not Russia.
There is just to much back an forth with other fans of the opposite team . Being in the window cleaning business you meet a lot of people , an especially on route work were yo see them weekly or monthly. They all know if they arnt with me ( my team) an we go back an forth ( all fun ). Not to mention all my friends , an family that have my number . The txts I got when the Jets lost in the afc championship games. Then the giants go on to win the Super Bowl ugh !!
Plus sports radio man listing to how great the rangers are , an how there is no way they will lose at home. The radio fans make you hate the opposite team more than the people you see or talk to daily.

I got ya. It’s the same here with Michigan vs Michigan State.
Intersting thing is, although I love Michigan, I will root for State on any other day
than the day they play each other.
(I listen to sports talk too
)
You have “In state rivalry” but on a much greater scale.
Would you be open to talking a bit more about people getting onboard with more regular cleaning? Or anybody else who wants to add to it?
I’m mid-way through year two and am booked up a month out… but a lot of it is yearly or maybe twice a year at best… and it’s almost all near the ocean. I would love to have more clients go with more regular cleanings but am just shifting from scrambling to get customers (last year) to managing current clients.
Anything would help really
Hi Joel.
Do you ever get any custs request you to come out specifically?
The reason why I ask is that that’s typically when I get the best response.
You mentioned you are by the ocean, but I’m a little ignorant, as the Great Lakes are fresh water…
Anyway, for me, I noticed that some of my cust were having the ‘Spider Man’ come out.
And I started to present it as “why don’t we just get you on a monthly schedule,
so you don’t need to make the phone call, at least for the summer?”
People just get used to having a nice sparkle to their house, and with winter salt (power of suggestion)
… they just kept the routine going.
I’ve currently got one monthly resi. customer. I’m inland from the east coast about 100 miles. His main home is in NJ. I do in/out in April and October or November and outs the months in between.
That’s an ideal account, Dan!
Inside twice/yr is nice.
My philosophy is…
‘do you want me to clean you dirty windows?’
- Or *
‘do you want me to keep your windows clean?’
Hey Chad,
Explain to her you have really enjoyed he releationship, and 11years, she surely is one of your best customers, but it puts you in a bind with the cancellations. Tell her you have a solution. She has to pay you up front for 6 months of cleaing, whatever it may be, and then if she cancels, you just put someone else on the List, and after 12 months, if you havent gotten back to catching up to what she paid you, then you refund her.
Most of these types of customers are not just going to leave money laying around, as we all know the richer they are, generally the more they count their coins.
If she says she wont do that, then I would just say, "I really enjoyed this relationship, and just let her know she will have to go on your waiting list.
My Thoughts.
Charlie
Oh and by the way, many people want services performed every 2 to 3 months. Some want their homes spotless at all times.
I have one lady that when we do all services, it is over $5000.00, then to three months later we do about $2000.00 for her.
This has been going on for years.
I love these kinds of people, because, the surfaces arent really that dirty, and you can do an excellent job in much less time.
Remember, like I tell all of my guys, if it weren’t for Rich people we wouldn’t have jobs.
see ya!
