Signs signs everywhere the signs

  1. Do we ever work around signs, or do we always remove them?

  2. Up chg. the normal rate for wkg. around signs?

  3. Do you have a gen. formula for pricing comm. work?

There’s so many different kind of signs… For starters you have vinyl cling on signs, adhesive backed signs, signs taped up, signs with suction cups, vinyl signs, hanging signs, neon signs, and painted signs…

I go case by case on this one. Neon signs must be removed by the customer however. I’ll clean behind it if it’s far enough away from the glass, most of the time they’re touching the glass though - that’s when I work around it.

The vinyl, cling on, adhesive backed signs you can usually go right over the top of. Just detail with a clean microfiber afterwards to wipe up the drips along the sides and bottom.

One thing about pricing… It’s kinda like learning how to swim. You won’t learn until you get wet.

Hey Micah,
I appreciate all of the timely and informative advice. UR really helping my “transition in”. Believe it or not I was holding out the neons w/ one hand cleaning/switching hands/ squeegeeing/then detailing. That’s prob. high risk, and time consuming. I won’t do that again.
Thanks LinO

some paper signs I will buff around if there’s not too much glass.
some times I’ll remove the signs if they have suction cups.
for the adhesive signs I clean right over them

Thats a good idea neon signs are expensive to replace.
