Im confused… So the Hybrid is the strongest and the lighter one of both yet only costs half of the carbon fiber one? Is this the newest model?
The Hybrid is half carbon fiber, half fiberglass.
Definitely heavier and less rigid than the 100% carbon fiber pole.
This is what it says on shopwcr :
Product Description:
SimPole Hybrid 50/50 50% Carbon Fiber 50% Fiberglass.
The Strongest, most light weight 60’ Hybrid SimPole out there!
Thats what got me confused…
That’s because it’s the only 60ft hybrid Simpole. Phil might have meant the lightest and strongest 60ft hybrid pole. If you ignore the word Simpole it clears up a little confusion.
The carbon fiber Simpole is lighter and more rigid than the hybrid.
I have a 30’ Simpole Twistlock Hybrid, a 24’ Extel hybrid and a 35’ IPC Eagle carbon fiber poles.
That is the order in which I like them. The 30’ Simpole hybrid is lighter than and more rigid than the IPC Eagle rubber noodle.
One of these days I’ll make another video. The Simpole can always be added to, by the way. That’s kind of cool…
I think I’ll just get a 60’ Simpole CF though, instead of a hybrid. I already have a 16 lb pole in my IPC Eagle 60’, though I hope to have it sold this week…
Hope this helps,
Vic
True, its the ONLY 60’ Hybrid pole on the market.
At 60’ you want full carbon.
Oh ok, now i understand, yes that a little confusing… So if i’d buy the simpole cf 30’ to start out with and later expand to the 60’ that would be the only one i need rite, no need to have multiple poles if that one can do it all…
Theoretically. But I dont think the carbon poles are as strong/tough as hybrid, or aluminium for that matter. If you are going to use a pole on an every day basis you might want one that can take a bit of a bashing. Plus if you are cleaning second story (residential) most of the time, you wont need such a long pole…Look at what work you are going to be using a pole for before you jump in. Micah has done a couple of good videos on wfp, one specifically about different sorts of poles, their strengths and weeknesses. You’ll find it in the “learning centre”, look for videos…sorry, I am useless with links…but its pretty easy to find.
I agree with Shawn after 36’ feet spend the money on the 100% carbon fiber.
The SimPole hybrid is 50% FG inner and two types of cf on the outside.
I love the combinational of more one type of carbon fiber and because the simpole cf60’ is 100% CF and is not a hybrid but
has this combination of different cf to make it so strong you can run you car over it.
Yet at 60 feet it is only 11-12 pounds.
Many poles only use one type CF and that will make them weak so that if you stress them they will break or are too wobbly when extended.
The new SimPole Clamp-less will use two types of CF which will make it only 8 pounds at 50’ feet and 10 pounds at 60’ feet .
( I could use only one type CF and make the thickness thiner to make it only 6 pounds or less at 50’ but I
want the pole to last at least 5 years and not have sections break on you)
Also every extra sections you add ( number 10 section) you will be adding 1 pound.
The reason why is because you will be able to go to 90 feet!
So at 90’ feet the SimPole clam-pless will be around 18 pounds which many poles at 50’ feet are now.
We did make a 80’ foot pole with 4- 8’ foot section 4- 7’ foot section and 4- 6’ foot section but it was too heavy even
though you could lift it completely from the ground and it would not break under its own weight.
We feel the new pole will have the best of every thing strength, light weight and hight!
We have worked with water fed poles from our first Tucker in 1983 which makes us some of the most experience water fed guys out there.
We have made mistakes but we keep trying to make improvements and look forward to your support for a USA SimPole@ designed pole for window cleaners by a window cleaner.
