Hey guys found this at Home Depot. Was having a hard time holding my squeegee in my BOAB with a 6" channel so I tried this. It works pretty good the only thing I would of changed in the design would be to add a locking ball to keep it tight. The blue one on it doesn’t lock and so I slides and gets loose. But it worked really good and saved me a lot of time and hassel. It’s easy to take off and put back on. Hope this helps someone. Oh yeah it was only like $8.
I use the Pulex BOAB for my larger squeegees and a hammer loop for a small 5-8 inch squeegee. The little ones do like to fall out of BOABs when your not paying attention.
Edit- I just looked at HD and saw that it does fit on a belt. I might have to take a look next I’m there.
I use this - ettore double loop nylon holster for my two small squeegees (6" and 8"). I open the stitching on the front loop so it can accept the handle.
I just added a hammer loop onto the belt. It’s like a hard, metal, U-shaped thing attached to a leather piece that the belt slips through. Cost about $5.00.
The BOAB is on my hip, and the 6" squeegee is right in front where I can grab it quickly.
Sometimes, I even put both a 6" and 8" there along with two others in my BOAB…depends on the window sizes, of course.
I use a hammer loop for my scrim. I use a 2 hole Unger Leather Holster for my 12" squeege (which goes in squeege 1st) and my 5" (squeege which goes in handle 1st). So far so good!
i heated up a steak knife over a gas ring on the cooker and when the tip is red hot it cuts easily . keep the window open near the gas ring though as the stink created is pretty strong !!
On the subject of holding on to your towels. I use the unger ergo tech belt system with suspenders. I put my towels between my stomach and the suspender straps. I know it looks funny, but I always have my towels right there and I can load up a large quantity if needed.
On a side not. If your unger belt system belt portion starts to sag (soft cloth) and makes everything no longer hang correctly you can do what I did. I restrung all the unger items as well as others with a (stiffer) ettore belt. This works great.
One other suggestion if you use the suspender set up. I put safety pins in originally to hold the suspender shoulder straps in place. I got tired of getting poked when the safety pins opened up so I took the suspenders to a shoe repair shop and had them use their heavy duty sewing machine to sew the straps in the position that was most comfortable for me. Cost me $8.00 and now its set for life.
