Soft washing painted or stained wood with alge

Hi everyone,

We are getting alot of requests for softwashing many areas at one house including concrete (ordered concrete surface cleaner), decking (sealed w/ alge), painted decking (flaking alge covered), and cedar sided house which appears to be painted or a really solid stain (small areas of alge). So Im wondering if our softwashing solution is safe to use on painted, stained surfaces to remove alge? We are using 12.5% SH and SC. Is the mix the same or should I back it down? Currently mixing per pressuretek guide for vinyl.

Also, we are getting alot of softwashing requests. Where is the best place to get training? Or even certifications? I saw some at PWNA but couldnt locate cost to be a member. I would really love to learn so Im knowledgable in my field.

Thanks!

If you don’t mind, let me know what you find out… I too, am curious.

i also want to know more about the soft washing technique to reduce the algae without affecting any other area.

Don’t know if you need to get certified. I started out by doing a lot of reading on the PT State Forum. Then practicing on my own house. If you can get hands on with someone that is great. You can give me a call and I’ll answer any questions that I can.

Melody we are almost neighbors. I’m about 20 minutes from Jiminy Peak. If you ever want to go out on a job with us just let me know.

If you join the WCRA there is a webinar by Michah on soft washing .
