Solar film removal

Any suggestion on the best process to remove Solar film. I just finished up a job removing Solar film. The outcome looked great but it took way too long. About one hour per window (4X8 foot).

I’ve found if yourndoing multiple panes the best way is to wet the window w soapy water and let it sit. Re wet let it sit re wet let is sit after about 20 minutes take your blade and see ifnyou can start to remove some material in the center. If it hard to get started re wet and sit. The longer the soapy water sits the more it’s absorbed into the window film. As it absorbs into the film it gets down to the glue of the tint. Thebtint is usually 2 or 3 layers. Glue a clear layer then the tint or just glue and tint. The longer it sits the easier itbis to get off.

Heat gun, soften, peel and scrape residue

Any time I have removed tint I always used strait ammonia. keep the window wet or moist and the ammonia will quickly eat through the tint and attack the glue. The tint then just peels off, wet again with your regular water, scrap where necessary, and clean as usual. The older the tint the faster it will come off. Usually you can do a few windows at time. The downfall is that you can only use the ammonia in a very well ventilated area and you must wear your personal protection equipment aka goggles and mask that filters the ammonia. In this case the PPE is essential.
