I’m owner operated been doing windows about 8 years and keeping things small. Ive been told that an all nylon brush and wfp like any other window is fine. Does this sound about right and is $10 to $20 accurate for pricing. That puts this job of 27 sollar panels at $270 minimum which seems high. Any input would be appreciated
Have you called any others in your area to see what they charge? If you tell em that you’d like to know so your not cutting throats, They might tell ya.
My town has like 3 window washers people actually use and that includes me and one friend. He said they can go for even just 8 dollars but again this isnt a solar panel city. Ive been in business 8 years and never cleaned one and me and the 2 other companies are the cleaners everyone uses.
those don’t look very dirty, should go at a good clip
height is a factor, if easy and lower floor access, time will be lower
roof access is a factor - if can stand on roof comfortably enough time will be lower, if not some crazy pitch and have to clean from ladder or awkward angles from ground those will take longer
setup and break down is a factor - doing windows too and already setup will lower time
actually cleaning the panels - like painted tilt up commercial buildings, using a nylon brush will leave all those stripy nylon bristle marks, hoghair far better
whats on the panels will be a factor - lots of pigeon/bird droppings? so much dirt you grow potatoes? the dreaded yellow bee droppings? bee droppings take a ton of time or special pads or concoctions of brushes to remove quickly
pitch of panels - flat panels dont drain at all and the dirty water puddles up no matter how much you rinse and push it off, you may have to even use a pole and squeegee to get water off. nice tilted panels go at a fast clip
rows of panels - more than 2 rows goes slower, 4th row gets to be a long slow reach, harder to move pole, to scrub etc
from your pic though that would prop only take 30-45min or less to clean those, including set up and break down.
I know if we charge $5 a panel we make $100 an hour typically. So any more and it just goes up. Solar panels are a breeze to clean in my opinion. Hope things are going well for you up north!
