Solar Panel Safety? What's the buzz?

Continuing the discussion from Reach-iT Water Fed Poles & Products - NOTICE:

The quoted thread brings up a longstanding question I’ve had, namely, how safe is solar panel cleaning with a wfp?

We are applying water directly to a high powered electrical fixture through a highly conductive pole.

I’m interested in this service but how great is the risk of electrocution?

I did search for info but would like input from the current group…

Naw I wouldn’t worry about it. They don’t radiate like power lines.

Unless you’re in Alabama…

How great the risk would depend on quality of installation.
Typically the risk is rather low.
There should be no problem if the wiring is done right and the
PV units are tight and don’t leak.

Solar cells within the panels are protected by layers of glass. If the glass is broken and water enters into a working solar panel, lethal electrocution is a real risk.

Good selling point for us is many manufacturers void warranty if a pressure washer is used on these. We’ve had maintenance guys try this and damage them.

Avoid applying pressure or using high pressure to clean.

Do not attempt to clean a fogged or cracked panel.

Ballsy.

Can’t you just turn them off while you work?

What about solar farms?

We have turn them off at homes
