Some Awesome Old Pictures

Especially at your age…;). Maybe twenty years ago you’d run that thing. But now?

Anyway you still got me BEAT…

Yes, we do.

And that’s why any Tom/Dick/Harry could start a company.
Anybody can do that” and all that.

Have you met “Bucket Bob” yet?!?

And congrats to all that do, they have a good chance at success.

 • but it wasn’t always like that.

Again. Figuring out “how shit works” trumps muscles, all day, everyday.
More experience gives you more chances to figure out how shit works.

It’s those who jump around going “I got this”/“I’m ‘killin it’” who don’t get it.

If you think that I am AT ALL a reasonably semi-smart person… realize, I really do know how my job WORKS.

Yeah my local competition is a guy named bob riding around on a ten speed… His solutions is windshield washer fluid in a bucket and his sqeegee was stolen from the local quikie mart… He try’s to solicit my customers to no avail… I have to run him out of town… It’s a free country right?

See how far he can get in twenty minutes on his bike? Not far. My Tacoma does 0 to 60 in like a minute!!! Plus, it carries poles.

I did a few 5 hour stints alone with a 40’. It takes brains and brawn. Quite the workout.

Anyone can do it.”
Has replaced…
“You guys are crazy.”/“I could NEVER DO THAT.”

I think it’s made us better, as an industry though, and I’m slammed more and more each year.
So I have no complaints.
I’m lucky, I’ve been doing this a while… I have customer base up the ass.

But. For a lot of us, claiming “Quality blah blah” won’t be enough.
Which is why my curiosity is so piqued with the whole “Inside vs Outside” thread.

I ain’t afraid of work, ladder work, heights, etc…
But I sure can see, there are others who are.

So just to be clear? Your name was bob until you changed it to the D?

Just bustin on ya dude!

No, not everyone can do it. These last two days for me? Nah every one couldn’t do what I did…

Some, even many. But not all…

“BOBfromtheBUCKET”
“BucketfromtheBob”

That looks awfully familiar! That doesn’t happen to be a St. John’s building in Southfield does it?

I guess they could be interchangeable. The bucket bobs, bob the buckets…

You know this Job?

Southfield, yes.

But No, not the same build.

I did do that building once with a co-worker… once
(that’s a 60’) and I hated it, never do it again.
But similar building… just higher.

Ha. Yeah…
He is a fellow Detroiter.

And, yes. You should be scared, right about now…
There were two of them.:stuck_out_tongue:

Haha, what is it about Southfield that all of the buildings have that pattern: window then black false panel, black frames. The building I’m talking about, I used to do with a 60’ lift, but I knew a guy that did it in the past, and he claimed he did it with a rigged up 60’ ladder. No thanks for me on that.

That’s ONE building I’m happy to say “I’m glad you have it, and not ME!”

Although that was probably 20 years ago, so it’s pretty much ‘to be expected…’

Actually, I think I did it for someone else.
I never “had it” in the first place.
lol. I’m getting tired/silly. :o
