Sorbo vs unger

Don’t bother with the Ninja channel. It’s crap. It leaves about a half an inch of water along the edges of the glass. I have no idea who at Unger thought that one would fly. Your pretty much going to need a beach towel to detail when using that squeegee.

I like my Ninja but I don’t want to buy a Ninja boab. I already have two Moerman boabs.

Do S channels fit normally in a non Ninja boab?

I like my 18" ninja channel. Don’t really have that problem. Guess I watch too many of @TheWindowCleanse videos.

Uh uh uh, you didn’t say the magic word. Uh uh uh you di…

It is about learning how to use the tool. If you cut in perpendicular to frame, then yes, water.

But if you…
… wait for it…

Divebomb! Yeeah, i said it.

Or mountain climb, juice the nickel, turn the tater, freeze the frame etc etc

Oh you can. I do find the brass give me that scalpel feel more, which i prefer on resi. A little lighter too.

No rule that says you can’t. I know of a local company that issues only Sörbo tools, and 90% of their work is residential.

My personal opinion is that using a wide body for residential is like driving a Humvee on narrow European streets. Not impossible, but definitely impractical.

Some of the best window cleaners I know who are killing it in this industry still use original brass channels. Don’t get caught up, just get started.

But to contradict myself… the new Legend looks like it might be better than Sorbo… :smirk:

Except for the ninja… It’s so smooth and light and sleek and cool… But it definitely leaves too much water. You can dive-bomb at 3.7 degrees to parallel and it will still leave water.

Honestly, and i know this is a huge and endless debate but let’s face it we love debating all this stuff, but I’m more and more leaning toward exclusively using the liquidator. The zero detailing just can’t be beaten. The learning curve for that thing is worth it.

Love that you put the umlaut.

Nah, not this group of people!

I usel the Sorbo also on the residential. Got all the sizes. And I like it better then the brass/stainless channels. The detailing is less and the rubber is great.
But I guess what you use the most is the tool you be the expert on.
Where I live there’s a lot of wooden frames and rough edges - the Sorbo makes a great job on those.

I’m just a stickler for punctuation.

Thank you. I keep getting tempted to try something new again. I’ve tried almost everything. A post like yours reassures me that what I’m doing is fine.

Modified Ettore brass channels cut at 30* not 45* all day everyday. No detailing and no more experimentation. Just rock and roll like a finely tuned machine.

Who cares if my method looks “old fashioned” lol

PS
I care. I prefer to be on the cutting edge. Perhaps I already am? HaHa

That new squeegee out of Canada looks very interesting :sunglasses:

I sure wouldn’t. Honestly, if you can somehow do A+ work by licking each window with your tongue, then who cares what anyone thinks? Do it! OK… I take that back. DO NOT lick windows with your tongue. It leaves water spots and there’s way too much detailing. Plus in cold weather…

No but seriously, I think find the thing that works for you consistently and run with it unapologetically!

I’m not talking about when your squeegee g a window by hand. It’s when your polling the window that it can’t be avoided. You can’t dive bomb when your polling the top of the windows. It’s leaves a lot of water on the sides. Other Squeegees don’t have that problem. Yes we can all dive bomb but that doesn’t solve the point issue. Not to mention when polling second floor windows where straight poles is all you can do unless your using a wagtail or liquidator.

How many second floor windows have you clean with it with an extention pole?

Gotcha.

So then that raises the question, why would you pole with a scrubber then a squeegee separate?

Because

A. It’s way more efficient to use a larger squeegee on second floor windows

B. They don’t make a 24 inch liquidator (it probably wouldn’t work anyways) or wagtail. I could modify my own if I wanted and add a flipper to my Sorbo.

C. It is just as effective and really more effective to use 2 poles. One to wet and one to squeegee. You wet a whole row of windows and then squeegee them off. No flipping and flopping an attached mop and no running out of water after 3 or 4 windows.

But making an extra trip to retrieve the second pole.

Also what do you do in direct sunlight? Good chance the first windows dry before squeegee?
