Spring advertising ideas

So I’ve been thinking what would be the best spring advertising for growing my residential customer base. I have a few ideas, I also plan on advertising my other services as well. I’m thinking of $1000 budget, keep it affordable and really target specific neighborhoods of existing customers where I either have interacted with neighbors interested in services or just more wealthy neighborhoods in general.

-yard signs (window cleaning, house washing, gutter cleaning/whitening) possibly roof cleaning if I can learn enough about the service

-door hangers (WCRA pre-tested, maybe 2 different ones)

-mailing out reminders to previous customers, also mention on them other services I provide.

Just let me know what you decide on if you go with wcra ads so we don’t hit the same area with the same stuff, lol

Good call! I’m sure we have similar neighborhoods in mind for the spring. Have you used any of the WCRA marketing pieces in the past?

Yeah. I use the early bird, pardon the glare, softwash, and dirty home. Pardon the glare is the door hanger I’m currently using and dirty home was going to be my spring campaign for mailers.

Dirty Home did really well for us last fall.

Oh, and yard signs.

Yard signs are huge! Can’t go wrong with them.

If I see yard signs on the south shore they’re mine - I use them as dustpans to pick up junk off my shop floor

Seeing as how the south shore is about 2 hours away I won’t be wasting my time. Don’t get your panties in a bunch

Thought well today I would revive some old threads…

…So how did 2014 turn out with your advertising plan.

What work best for you in 2014?

What are you guys adding to your marketing plan for 2015?

Incidentally, I like the fact that you’re doing it.

Some people bitch about bumping old threads…
But, when you think about it, each year is another year to look back on/analyze.

You guys know me, I’m pretty discrete (when it comes to actual advice, at least.)

But I’d like to see some of you give a more minute focus on your forecast/expectations.
Get to know your months. Meaning, know that in the past 5 years, you have hit a strange lull in mid June (total random example)

You are already separating Spring from winter… keep that fictionalization going.

Like I said, "another year past, another year of true data to review.)

Got to love those spread sheets.

Yards signs, postcards and door hangers work well! Also rock bags if you don’t mind the occasional mad phone call

You just posed 21 times in 18 minutes.

That’s GOTTA be a record!
You took up my whole screen…

–Awesome rampage.

Just make sure you’re not throwing them through the window!

Last year my flyers were great for residential, along with neighborhood specific flyers (used 3 for some 55+ neighborhoods and got many calls)

The fall i used 2 initial gutter cleaning signs, one at my home on a side street in town and another at my friends grandfathers house on a busy road next to a set of lights in the same town. Then as calls came I put a sign up in that yard for a week, gave the customer a $25 gift certificate and took my sign back.

I also used street bidder a few times, got a few calls from only about 100 postcards and landed both of them in a nice golf course neighborhood.

The rest of my marketing was craigslist, thumbtack, and my absolute favorite being referrals.

Now to think of another spring flyer campaign and if the snow let’s up I want to start getting my flyers out the first and second week of March.
