We all know about the 0 angle squeegee. And most have about a 35 degree angle. Personally I like a 15 degree angle. What handle angle does the new Moerman have? I remember a squeegee that Ettore came up with that had an adjustable angle. I bought two than gave them away. They would just fold out to a zero with any pressure. No control. The real old Unger green handles had a rather shallow angle. Then I would just hack saw and fold them to a 15 degree. I always thought it would be great if a manufacturer could make a handle that could be adjusted with a knob. But over all these years no one has. I still use an old green Unger on my route with a 20 degree handle angle. Of course I use Ettore rubber.
the ettore handle you mentin is my favorite…it is adjustable, not by degree of angle but by pressure sensitivity so that if it is set too sensitive it will open up too easily. llikewise if not sensitive enough it wont do it when you want, like clsing out on some knuckle scraping deep frames.
New Moerman handle no doubt will be 40 degrees, same as the pivoting one. I use Wagtail handles that are 40 degrees when purchased. Got hooked on Hermans heat gun straighten mod. I run mine at 20 degrees. Much more ergonomic in my opinion.
Maybe I never took the time to figure out how to adjust it. I should get one back from my friend and see if I can do that. Please tell me exactly how to do it. Has Ettore or anyone put out a video on this?
Hi Henry, I see John posted a link to the handle with a pic. That little knob on the top adjusts the tension. It may not be what you are looking for as it doesn’t lock in the angle. It does lock for zero degree, which I find very useful, but nothing else.
