Stains

How do you remove hard water stains or very stick residue?

are there any other kind of stains (such as paint) to know about to avoid confusion in the future?

Magic eraser works really well for sticky residue like silicone. I don’t do any hard water stain removal. Sorry I can’t offer any advice on that.

There are several hardwater removal chemical out there. I couldn’t reccomend any because I haven’t worked with them since my last window cleaning job (and I have no idea what we were using - it came in a purple bottle and was kinda milky colored), but essentially what we would do is put that chemical on a white pad and go to town rubbing it in (like if you were steel wooling the window). You can also use steel or bronze wool. Same effect as the white scrub pad, just a little more abrasive.

We would charge double the cost of the window if we had to do this.

This is the pad I am talking about

Lime away usually does the trick, just make sure it doesnt stay on the ledges too long. Or on your hands lol.
