Thanks…I have been thinking of using a sponge for this and sills…is it ok to use the same sponge?
Interesting, I was using Ettore soft…had previously used Unger hard and not noticed it as much.

Good advice.
I think we have touched on everything here. The truth is it is likely a little bit of everything. Personally I like Dawn. But have even had problems with it. On the right kind of glass. Because even though the chemistry of the glass is the same, the surface of window glass can be VERY different. Even on the same window. That difference will affect how much of a synthetic detergent (syn-det) film is left behind. The WFP guys on this forum will be the first to tell you this. Because pure water will cover the glass different. They hate hydrophobic glass. Typically HP glass beads water. I call this glass “tight”. When clean and dry it feels very smooth. Glass that naturally sheets water feels rough. Getting back to the thread I believe that hydrophobic glass will streak quicker than glass with a low contact angle (hydrophylic glass). I want to do some videos on this. It has been a fascinating topic for me for many many years. Recently I learned that I could control the contact angle (CA) by removing a very thin layer of glass with cerium;…then adjusting an isopropyl alcohol based siloxane glass sealer by adding different amounts of isopropyl alcohol. The extra alcohol reduces the hydrophobic properties of the sealant. My Soap n Seal transformer product is water based so I can’t do this with it. Unfortunately. But I know who to ask for a water based organo-silane that is adjustable. Then it could be added directly to a WFP system. Enough talk about this stuff. I am getting my new video editing program this week. I need to show you all what I am talking about.

Could someone please explain the proper technique? I can’t seem to find anything in the search and the few references to feathering in videos usually gloss over it without giving a lot of explanation on how to do it right. So far, when i try to feather it doesn’t dry the squeegee pretty much at all and leaves the frame dripping, so i know in doing it wrong.
It starts from the wet up especially with the top frame don’t push water into the top seal, feathering its kinda hard to explain a few brief pulls where you pull the 1st inch a few time pull release until the squeegee has caught all the water then you make your stroke.
Its much easier to teach in person rather than to explain in text form
