Tax Question for New York state window cleaners

I’ve searched far and wide but still can’t find a straight forward answer. In NY state do we charge the customer sales tax for cleaning residential or commercial windows? I have been told before that service providers such as window cleaners, lawn maintenance etc. don’t collect sales tax from services provided. Can someone please set me straight so I don’t screw myself at tax time. THANKS!

I would like to know that too. In NJ its required because its not a necessity.

I’m in NY and as I understand the description on our nytax.gov page, any cleaning service is taxable.

Yes you need to collect sales tax.

Thank You New Yorkers for setting me straight
