now that is genius! payday loans, I see them on every corner i didnt know they make that much interest. not an industry for me though i hate confrontations and all that stress that comes along with being in that kind of an environment.

No matter how smart you are about investing, it all might be a big waste if you plan to cash out and buy a house with it. Houses can be one of the worst financial investments you’ll ever make, contrary to the cult of the “American Dream”. What other investment is very non-liquid, requires expensive insurance, gets taxed at ridiculous rates every year (depending on where you live), requires constant costly maintenance, is subject to every whim of buyer tastes and fads, cannot be relocated, has extremely high transaction costs and deteriorates over time? Yet, we do have to have a roof over our head, so my advice is to invest 20k into something very conservative, 20k into marketing and expanding your business, and then keep your eye out for an incredible deal on a home that isn’t the biggest in its neighborhood, has low taxes, doesn’t show well due to cosmetic issues and a really good foundation (or a nice lot and strike up a friendship with the best home builder in your area). Also live below your means and do good with your money (give some of it away) even when you don’t think you have much.

Today my friend that owns a small local restaurant and has no idea that im looking for ways to invest 40k of my money tells me this story. He says that he had to fire one of their lady waitresses today because she missed work the past three weeks. She tells him that her brother won 40k gambling on a football game at a bar and as he left the bar drunk and happy the guys that lost followed him to a hwy overpass where they threw him over. He is in critical condition and almost died. She was on a war path the past 3 weeks trying to figure out how to get revenge or atleast to coop with the ordeal.
ok, so now I know not to do anything stupid with this money that would lead me to be around the wrong type of people.
