Temporary fall protection anchor for TILE roof

I have been digging around the internet lately in search of a fall protection system that I can use on homes with a tile roof. Unfortunately there are times where I have no choice but to walk a roof to either clean solar panels, sky lights, windows, etc. I do not feel comfortable removing tiles in order to attach a D ring to the roof; this seems to be one of the few options I found. What do you guys use to stay safe while walking a tile roof. Thanks for any input. Work safe everyone!

I use wfp on solar panels and hard to reach sky lights sometimes use lightweight wfp off the ladders using ladder stands on the bottom of the ladder and sometimes with someone footing me.

I use the same method with zero problems most of the time. Yesterday I was doing a job that had a small group of panels and a skylight that were set back out of reach (I was using my 35’ pole, was about 10’ to small) due to a aluminum patio cover. I know I could just buy a bigger pole, however; I would like to also buy a fall protection system for the odd ball times where roof walking is un-avoidable.

not very many choices. if I have to though, the yellow bucket at holmes depot. roofing section. its only a few nail holes.

Sound like a brand new product just launched by KEE SAFETY might help you. It’s called Easi-Dec and can be raised to roof level in less than 10 minutes. If tied into the structure with an anchor system included, it is OSHA-compliant as fall protection. Check out the KeeSafety website at Easi-Dec Kee Safety, United States

my laugh is how is one ‘protected’ while getting to the location and installing said protection?

looks like people are trying to come up with answers these days, that’s great.

this looks good if one is going to be at that working location for hours/days, it would be nice to see an answer for at a work location for minutes/seconds.

we just cleaned a tile roof last week with no way to secure anywhere, so i secured myself to my partner as he was sitting on the other side of the roof, probably not the best way to do it but i had no other choice…

I usually throw my rope on the other side the house and tie it to a tree or something.
