I’m going to be sending out year end thank you cards to everyone who used me in 2014. Next year I’m planning to get some printed to send out the week after… but for now … what do you guys do, if anything, for end of the year cards? Design and print custom company cards? Batch of generic holiday cards with handwritten message?
Handwritten thank you cards are always better in my book. When I get a computer printed card, I imagine it was automatically sent without any sincerity behind it.
Tell you the truth I dont know. I probably should send them to everyone, but the majority of my customer base spends $200+ and so it was a way for me to be lazy and limit the amount of hand writing i had to do. In the future I might consider sending them to everyone, but we will see, even then if i send cards to everyone I would probably get pre-printed ones for the lower value and hand written for the higher value jobs. I also sent cards this year to people who referred me out, or that I viewed as important even if they didn’t spend over $200. Hope that helps you figure out where my head it.
We take the top 20 customers based on total revenue spent for the year. Then I send them gift cards for $25-$50 (restaurants, best buy etc.) with a personal letter thanking them for their business. Example: 1 Account has 3 managers all responsible for the window cleaning. So I give each guy a $25 gift card with their own letter. This has helped all these customers to stay loyal to us…also don’t forget, these count as year-end tax deductions. Oh yeah!
