The Power of EBC

OK. Call me dumb like my phone. And I am a soap head. The other day I was playing with cleaners again cuz I ran out of Dawn. I grabbed some EBC and changed my water. Not being content with the glide and sudz I was getting I put about a pint of EBC in three gallons of water. After about one hour of work cleaning clean windows my water was totally black. It was breaking down the black rubber seal of the window frames. And probably doing the same to my squeegee rubber. When I got home I noticed my fingers hurt. Bad. I had caused chemical burns on my skin. Before I wrote this I looked at the MSDS. It is way on the alkaline side. Unlike the mild soaps which are neutral. And there is an ingredient that is not named or even identified by a CAS#. My take on this? It is a great product. Cuts through grime very good. Has a pleasant smell as well. Just use it at the correct concentration. But if you have sensitive skin wear gloves.

Thanks for the head up Henry.

Thats good to know. I have used EBC for about a month and have not been super impressed with the OVERALL performance because I have to add Ecover to get enough slip.

For me its hard to beat GG4 and Ecover

We have also used it for about a month and add ecover… Mmmmm

Well from the chemistry standpoint it sounds like it will work best in a grease on glass situation. Alkilines help dissolve grease.

I’ve gone through my quart in just over a month, lots of route work and a few residential jobs each week.

I also add Ecover to it for the slip and a little suds action, I’ve never had chemical burn like feelings on my hands at the end of the day though.

I think the EBC is best used on commercial and route work for those tough stains/finger prints that you’re not trying to pull out a white pad for the $10 route stop.

I still have more than 3/4 GG4 quart left that I was using for about a month before I gave the EBC another go. I think I’ll be sticking with my GG4/Ecover mix, does a great job plus you don’t use as much GG4 for each new bucket of solution.

Been using EBC for third day today and I don’t know why, but my hands are burning using this soap all day. What is in it??? Never had that burning feeling using GG3/4. Anyone experienced this?

I’m like most of the others here. I like EBC Glide, but need Ecover or whatever to really get the glide I want. On those rare occasions that I get the combination just right, it’s workability is unmatched.
