Thermax Tulsion (MB-108-BG) Mixed Bed DI Resin

Has anyone ever used Thermax Tulsion (MB-108-BG) Mixed Bed DI Resin in their DI tank before?

Are there different types of DI or is all DI fine to use in your DI tank. What are the different types of DI, for example I see Nucler DI and Virgin DI spoken about. Where does one find Virgin DI, I read that it can last up to three times longer then regenerated DI?

Star Bright even mentioned purchasing 1/2 cubic feet for $20, how is that possible? Anyone have any good sources for inexpensive DI?

I also read that you have to make sure you adjust your water pressure so you don’t burn through your DI, what should the pressure be at?

Also does anyone know how heavy a 1 cubic tank is with water in it?
How many pounds of resin for 1 cubic foot is it 16?

Your PSI shouldnt exceed 45, 50 at most. Ive got a pressure regulator on my tank rated at 50 psi, you cant get one from the WCR store.

As far as the weight of the tank, its pretty dang heavy. Heavy enough to have to put leaf springs on my truck.

Tulsion virgin resin is reputed to be one of the best brands available. I’ve not tried it personally, but know a few ppl who claim it lasts up to 30% longer than other brands of virgin resin.

Right on I’m going to buy some today, I found 1 cubic foot virgin for $95. Hope that is a good price!

If you run a twin DI system then you’ll gain an additional 20 - 30% of pure water for each cube of resin.

With a single DI vessel, you regenerate/change the resin as soon as the output TDS starts to climb. But the resin is still bringing the TDS down from 350 odd to 005 or 006 right? Instead of getting rid of this resin, you can use it as a “buffer” before a 2nd tank of fresh resin. By the time the output TDS from the 2nd vessel starts to rise, the resin in the 1st vessel is spent completely.
You change/regenerate the 1st vessel, but swap the 2nd vessel into 1st place so it becomes the “buffer” before the other tank of fresh resin.

Combine this method with virgin resin and a water saving techniques and you’ll cut your resin costs in half!
