Those stupid dot/hole window clings

You know what I’m talking about? Window stickers that are perforated so that the folks in the stores can see out. I wash/squeegee over them, but they stay pretty wet. If there are any wrinkles, then I get serious drippage below. I’ve gone so far as to towel of the whole sign after I’ve squeegeed it. Just curious if anyone else has found a magical way to deal with them.

Yea I run into those occasionally. I do basically what you said, squeegie over them (if they are small) and wipe them down really good. If an entire window is covered then you really can’t squeegie it, so I just wipe it the best I can. Maybe use some foam cleaner and do my best. If there is an easy way, then I haven’t found it!

I look at them and then walk away

WFP with a backpack is the ticket.

I wet and squeegee as normal.
But then I throw a towel flat over my channel, and pull it down (rather than hand towel it all)… works alright.

Do you use wfp on some of your storefronts. If yes, please give us some scenarios/case. Would be useful.

John Lee likes to use his WFP on storefronts. After talking with him I decided to try it out. Cleaned up the window wrap nicely but to be honest it made a wet mess all over the sidewalk. Maybe John will chime in.

For now sometimes I skip the window, or wash it with my strip washer, squeegee it off and then towel dry with a huck towel folded for thickness in the palm of my hand.

Dust it off. Wash and sqeegee around it. Then you only have to dry the edges.

i wash, squeegee and use a cleaning clamp on my pole with a towel if i cant reach by hand. try and stay away from the edges and corners as they tend to peal easily

This idea sounds quick and efficient. Can we raise their price because of the new signage? The other ideas seem to be more time consuming.

Yeah, I hate them! However we have some weekly jobs with strips on lower parts of window we keep up with. We strip washer, squeegee then after quick detail quickly run over by hand with towel.

Other jobs they say leave’m be… we gladly do

I have these on a bunch of coffee shops I clean. This is the way to do it.

You don’t have to clean it, but eventually (a ways down the road) that dirty cling-on is going to stick out like a fart in church compared to the windows you have been cleaning every week for the past couple months. Then, when it rains you’ll have dirty rundowns and such. It doesn’t take that long to towel them off real quick. Now if the entire window is covered, then charge them for the extra time. If they don’t like it, do what jashworth said and walk away. Too many other “money” jobs out there to worry about one or two specific jobs.
