Thoughts on paying a "vendor" fee?

Had an Associa client recently, but now they want me to set up a Vendor account through their 3rd party system (VendorSmartsm) before I can qualify for any future Associa jobs. Problem is, I have to pay an annual fee to stay in their system.

What are your thoughts on this? Is it work paying a fee to be an approved vendor for a commercial management group? Or should I say, “Screw it, I got paid for their 1 job already” and move on?

Tell them you’ll take the info and sign up if/when you get more work for the client…we get the same, and just factor that into the costs the next time around. The 3rd party folks are marketers trying to procure your sign-up, the community managers don’t usually care if you’re signed up in advance.

Do your research on that 3rd party Vendor , many are a pain to work with . There’s been people here complaining about some , I don’t remember the name though

Work with as few NSP’s and the like… lots of hoops and BS more often than not.
