Throwing a 22-26 foot multi position ladder?

Off those of you who use a 22-26 foot multi position ladder, how difficult is it throwing it at full length BY YOURSELF??? Currently have a 24 foot extension but thinking of purchasing a large multi position .

Thanks in advance!!

Will

Easy, but I have been known to work a 40’ alone. Silly, I know.

Easy breezy. they allow for so much versatility.

THIS IS exactly the reason I invested in a WFP, so I wouldn’t have to do the following:

A. Buy a ladder
B. Carry that said bought ladder around on my shoulder all day
C. Climb that same ladder 100 times a day

Spend your earnings wisely, consider moving towards WFP’s!
You’ll be glad you did

I’ve got a 22’ Werner multi position ladder and it is HEAVY!
Very handy when I need it, but I’ll use my 24’ extension over it any day; much less work. Plus I don’t think you can use leg levelers or stand offs on the multi position ladders.

I have leg levelers and stand offs for my Little Giants.

That’s cool. Don’t get me wrong, I love the multi position ladders. I also have a 13’ and a 17’. I started my business with just the 22’ multi position and it served me very well during those first two years, or so. I really like the 13’. I have almost completely stopped using a step stool in favor of the 13’.

Totally get your point but I already have a decent wfp set up. I’m using the ladder to get on roofs.

Good to know, thanks.

What’s your build if you don’t mind me asking??? I’m 6 foot and strong and can throw a 16 foot straight ladder relatively easy. I know shorter guys can have difficulty throwing a long straight ladder.

It about technique not size.

Correct…, but it does help

Sorry, I thought what you needed it for was for cleaning windows not for access to the roof.
My bad, good to see your on board w/ the WFP system.

Love the wfp. Don’t want to be on a ladder if I don’t have to but I’m on roofs a lot cleaning solar panels.

Do you do any interior resi work? Also, at least here in Idaho the colder weather limits WFP months. I don’t know if I can completely eliminate the ladder.

Yeah, my WFP has been in storage for months now.

I’m so envious of those ‘warm weather’ people.
That whole ‘ignorance is bliss’ thing.

Well this warm weather person lived in GA for a long time and was limited to 10 months until moving further south, well worth it. I’m not saying ditch the ladder, jus WFP more when you get the opportunity.

I carry a 22’ LG and yeah I wont lie that shits heavy!

Very versatile but not really intended to be on the GO…

… If it’s just for getting on a roof, why use a multi ladder? why not just a straight extension.
If the straight is too long for your vehicle there is a 24’ ext ladder that is in 3 sections not 2
so it closes up smaller.

I think I’m probably a similar build to you. I have a 22 (never tried a 26) but I usually have a standoff strapped to mine, making it more top-heavy. Even so, it’s not hard to throw at full extension, once you have a good technique.
