A while back i had a customer call me regarding his new store. I was not in the buisness then and did not do the job. He wanted his windows cleaned but he was worried about them turning blue due to them being tinted. I use easy glide soap by unger. Has anyone ever heard of that happening and if so how do you prevent it? Also, is that a good cleaner and what works good for removing water spots?
Thanks in advance for your help
Unger EasyGlide will work just fine. Just stay away from anything ammonia based. Window tint can turn colors and lose its solar heat refection. Most cheap tints are made with dyes and turn pretty quick.
If your client went with a sputtered or hybrid tint he should not have to worry about it turning for at least 10 years.
ditto
window tint will not turn purple or loose its solar reflection because you use ammonia on the windows. Ammonia breaks down the scratch coat causing the scratch coat to fail. It can flake off or become cloudy or scratch much easier. 3m uses a ammonia safe scratch coat but I is the only film to do so.
Here are some myths about window tinting.
