Took a nasty fall today

Hey guys, just wanted to remind you all not to get to comfortable on those ladders! Just had mine slide out on some slick backyard tile. It was sprinkling and I was trying to save some time.

5 stitches and thankfully no major property damage later, I got the itch to start using that water-fed-pole that I got sitting in the back of the truck!

Take care fellas and remember: “Stop, drop, and roll.”

Glad to hear your OK, KC.

But I don’t understand, were you on fire before you fell off the ladder? Stop drop and roll is usually practiced if your on fire…

I fell once about 10 years ago. Landed on my back and neck and that was first thing in the morning. I had to complete the day with a huge headache and a flower pot imprint on my back.

Glad you walked away.

Glad it’s just some stitches. After a fall the wfp just looks better and better.

glad that you’re the one posting about it and not a friend or relative

Do you own a Ladder Stopper?

Heal soon!

Glad your ok. Scary stuff

ouch! good to hear you didn’t break something…
now go buy a Gardiner!

Is that ladder advice Larry, or physical condition well wishes?

I can never remember either, Bert.

Glad your OK!!!

Yea, glad you’re okay. Ladders are no joke. I went down once but felt it moving and so I reacted by sliding down the ladder as it was going down. Got banged up and bruised but was okay. It leaves you reeling for a while and wondering. I can relate bro…mine happened about 11 years ago and it made me a safer ladder guy as a result. Learn from mistakes is my besttest advice.

Glad your OK. In my other job, I am constantly on ladders and its hard not to become complacent. I lost a friend on a ladder fall about 8 months ago. Its a reality check. I try to work it as no ladder placement is routine…and check and recheck. Get well…and play lotto.

Glad you are still walking! Love them falls! Good to have sometimes though, makes you not take your work too lightly. Just as long as they are not too high of falls.

Some chicks love scars.

Hi All,
Larry, way 2 funny w/ the chicks dig stitches line. Haven’t had a ladder slide out from under me yet in the 25+ years using them but a couple of years back, I did have the wind blow the ladder and myself off the side of a house. Bump on the elbow but an eye opener 2 what is possible. Heal soon and take care…

Glad to hear you are ok! Ride those ladders liek a bull and fight the erge to jump. So far I have only one ride and it was a reality check. My brother not so lucky, he broke his foot doing something stupid. Be careful out there, one clean window is not worth you life or broken limbs.

Thanks for the nice words guys.
Just really thankful it wasn’t that bad.
I’m off today to try to rehang the customers rose lattice that I took out in the process.

Larry, I’ve never seen a ladder stopper, but I googled it. Looks like a great idea right about now! Might be my next purchase. Where do you recommend getting one of these.

Glad to hear your ok ! Saving time and short cuts could take you you out be careful!
