I have a cleaning next week and there are two windows in front of house that have these very old storms windows. Has anybody dealt with these? Do they come all the way off? It seems like they just flip open from the bottom. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Push in those screw like things and twist them 180 degrees to release the tabs. Pull from the bottom. They look hinged and will probably come apart when you open them enough.
Those look like fun!

I encountered 6 on those my first week on the job until I found out you are supposed to charge extra for them lol
I’ve seen those a few times. I believe they area Sears windows. Ive had to decline jobs at points because the hardware was seized.
I managed to get one of the bottom ones open and it seems like it won’t come all the way off. I’m thinking just lift it up enough to clean both sides and the other window and screw then back in. There’s only two on the house. The rest are newer windows.
Yep! I factored in the extra work lol
It’s only two on the house bu when I walked up to the house I was thinking the whole house was like these two and I was going to pass hard!! Lol Btw, your logo looks familiar… Are you in Charlotte NC?
I’ll be lucky to get one cleaned properly
The other thing I have noticed is that the middle glass is very easy to break because the tracks are usually rusted on or just not lubricated enough to slide out properly.
Thankfully they are butt ugly & the homeowner wanted to change them anyays so she was not upset since it was the middle piece.
Yea! Been here a year. You?
I thought so. This is my second year. I’m the owner of D&N Windows and Gutters. I’m all over Charlotte. I’d say you’re my competition but this city is not even close to being saturated with window cleaners. Heck, my own brother does the same thing over in Ballantyne area.
Shhhh. Don’t give anyone any ideas. Lol but yea this city is booming right now. Maybe we can meet up sometime and talk business.
